What i have heard is that the screen is a plasma and uses the same tech as the Sony Bravia ...though i aint sure abt this...but let me inform u guys this is one really beautiful screen the wallpapers really come to life
Battery:
When fully charged and with screen brightness set to max ..when the movies literally come to life ...... the wallpapers capture you in their serene enviroments it shows a 5 hrs battery life ....if u feel the need for more battery life ...lets say during a long journey u have the option to reduce the screen brightness and it shows up 8hrs remaining
With the screen switched off, you can listen to songs for about 20Hrs
Controls:
Conveniently positioned and you can play for long hours before you complain of NUMB fingers.....the build quality is good too
Memory:

I have a 2GB memory i have about
25 odd songs ......
about 100 wallpapers and my K750i pics .......
Burnout Domination...

After using my 2GB Buffalow thumb-drive the write speeds seem ....lazy
Games:
This is the main reason for the PSP's existence ....this has what given it the title of the best portable gaming device
There are lotsa games available and the graphics are really amazing for a portable and the best thing is there are more to come....Prince of Persia-Rival Swords (PSP version of the Two Thrones) looks and plays same as the pc version .......the only diff in the pc and psp version...imo is Anisotrphic filtering ...which is better in the pc ....dont even dream abt AA though the game plays smoothly and looks good for a portable ...Games when converted to CSO occupy lesser spaceupcoming titles are a larger in size
Multi-player gaming is handled via Wi-Fi...I came across an article that it can support 15-20 players for mult-player gaming
And trust me no matter how how good the XBOX-360 and the 88s from Nvidia get having the psp in your hand reminds you of your childhood days with the small video-game in your hand .....its just a romantic experience playing on the go ......and i dont seem to know how time flies .....compared to my slow boring journey to work
The load times for games played from he UMD are understandably slower that those from the MPSD...but no jaggies...no jittering....BUTTERSMOOTH GAMEPLAY
Movies:
The movies look brilliant thanks to the screen and with the ear phones u can feel the sound travelling from ear-to-ear....and its really fun watching movies on the go ......its highly recommended over any other device for watching movies on the go...the iphone might give it a tough competition but its more expensive ...it costs twice as much
Music:
Amazing sound quality ...TOP MARKS for quality but if you are someone who prefers hearing loud music u might want to replace the stock 1s.....though for normal usage and in quiet places it does suffice
It offers all the basic functionalities of a MP3 player .....plus features that let u mark a particular section of the track and play
The ear-phones also house the controls for the music player....and let u play/pause/next-prev/forward/reverse thru the songs ....the cable is long enough to keep my psp in my bag while travelling thru the mumbai trains ....no problems yet listening to musci in the crowded mumbai locals ...the ear-buds fit in just perfectly
Bookr:
This is not available with the psp ...but its a small app to download ... its an open source software to read pdf's and text files ...and it allows u to overclock the psp too
*I have come across news that the psp sold is under-clocked ....so overclockers get your WC kit ready..ok no WC ....just overclock it and pray while you game ...pray that you dont damage it
WiFi:
supports Wi-FI hand comes with a browser which rendered most of the web-sites properly....i used it mostly for my gmail ...for inputting text its like doing it on a cell phone .....it can take some time getting used to .....it supports flash ...too!
There is an implmentation of IR though u cant use it ...its reserved for the future ...
...though u get softwares which use IR
NO BLUETOOTH

In mumbai i guess ...with the mod and a original UMD and a 2 GB stick u can get it for approx 10k...
A word on the new psp slim ....available for $169...battery life has been upped and the ram has been doubled this translates to better loading times ...but the gfx sub-system remains the same ....
