Sony Readies iPod Rival

Sony is preparing to take another swing at Apple Computer's iPod digital music player, a top Sony executive said today.

The company is developing a new music player that will go on sale in the U.S. and other markets over the next year, alongside a companion download service and software, said Takao Yuhara, senior vice president of Sony, at a briefing with reporters in Tokyo.

Yeah right, Sony readies Ipod rival after SEVEN YEARS. Good job Sony! The iPod's been out since 1999 and still companies are trying to rival it. It hasn't worked for goddamn seven years, it isn't going to work now! Why don't they try something new and ingenious instead of copying other designs all the time? This is pathetic!

I'm expecting the same stupidity that happened b/w the Creative Zen Vision:M and the IPod 5G to arise.

Creative developed their iPod competitor Zen Vision:M based on the iPod 4th generation. But by the time they released it, IPod was out with the 5th gen one which was hell slimmer than the 4G and the Vision:M!!!
