It’s specially made for people, who don’t want to pay exorbitant prices to enjoy 3D content, and the display was revealed during the Sony E3 press conference. The 24” display supports full HD 1080p resolution and is optimized for full 3D output.

It will be available later this year and the unique feature of the display is that, it outputs individual full HD screens, making it easy to play 2 player gameplay modes like, co-op or head-to-head and is perfect for dorm-rooms, family-rooms or bedrooms.

Each set comes with a pair of 3D glasses (costing 69$), a HDMI cable and a copy of Resistance 3. It’s a great way to promote the game, as well as push 3D content and the entire package will be available for $499 in the US. We will update you on the Indian pricing and availability once revealed.

Good going Sony

Mods- didn't know where to post this so posted in gaming section.

Impressive. Two screens for two players is def a good thing.

Now this shd be the apt replacement for your existing desktop monitors. 24" Screen is small by Sony's standards. Maybe a ploy to keep the costs down or push this as a desktop monitor as well.

Solved : One of the oldest problem in gaming - Full Screen Split

Using a 3d TV/Screen and pair of 3d Glasses it has been shown that 2 players can enjoy full screen split.

The glasses seem to have done the magic. With both L and R lenses showing same image instead of a 3D image, one can have 2 pairs of glasses showing 2 separate images.

The left filters out stuffs from the right. So if the glass has both L and R filter out the stuff showing on the "right" of the TV, then the person only see the left stuff.

Similar for the right person. They only see the right part.

For 3D, left and right are very similar pictures, but a little bit different from capture angle. For display, it doesn't care, it just showing two different images for 2 players.

And it seems SONY are the one who came out with this idea, not sure if they are going for a patent :P.
