Sony Xperia Z Ultra aka Togari which will be the flagship phablet from the company is expected to be unveiled very soon. Sony is holding a press event on 4th July in France for which it has sent press invites which show a glimpse of the Xperia ZU.
The Xperia ZU is rumored to be one of the biggest phablets, sporting a massive 6.4 inch full HD display. It will have very thin profile, being just 6.5mm thick. The side profile of the device is visible in the press invites.
The press invite text when translated says , “Sony Mobile reserves a big surprise for you“and below it there is text in handwriting saying “Do not forget to mark your calendars!” which hints that the product is indeed the huge phablet from Sony and may include a stylus to compete with the likes of Galaxy Note 3.
It is rumored to be powered by Snapdragon 800 chipset with 2.2GHz quad-core processor and Adreno 330 graphics with 2GB of RAM and 16GB internal storage with microSD card slot . It will have 8MP rear camera and 2.2MP front camera. It will run Android 4.2 Jelly Bean with UI similar to the Xperia Z.
It is also be water and dust resistant, though there is no flap on the 3.5mm jack shown in the pic ( probably they have made the jack water resistant like the Galaxy S4 active ).
Another purported picture of the Xperia ZU got leaked recently which shows the device with screen turned on.
From the leaks, the Xperia Z Ultra seems to be a very interesting device and can give serious competition to the upcoming Galaxy Note 3 , we will have to wait few more days to find out the exact details on it.
