The sony that you have mentioned seems to be better, the sound quality must be around the same, fm is a good addition, though the ipod has got more accesories for it. How much for the sony locally ??

sony does seem to be better.......!!! but if ur interested in sheer snob value and added attraction of a few jazzy accessories.... then think abt apple....

IMO ....apple i-pods (spcly the NANO )...are highly priced...and they are nothing..splc..its only the brand name tht sells !!THE I POD !!

i think..sony also has mp3 player..with better or same music quality..and also good looks...so u can go for Sony..if theres some limited buget..and if u find them cheaper than apple i-pods..

I am Been a Real "Sony Freak" ... since i started to listen to music .. Sony has been my Choice, right From my first walkman, then my Cd Based Mp3 Player & Recently i Bought

GNZ9D is a Real Rocking SET... main feature has Always Been the Bass... also the Electrical to Audio Conversion SONY rules always

Now IPOD has Taken over... i too have heard from my Friends,IPOD u just pay for the Brand ...also 2gb music player from sony is only $129.

Anybody Out here Has Sony NW-E507 ?? ....

Ive used this Sony player and the Nano. Theyre both decent. Sound quality depends on the quality of ur rips. I cant say there was a noticable difference with the Sony. The iPod is easier to use and the color screen definately trumps the display on the Sony which is almost impossible to read in sunlight. The FM tuner on the Sony is a definite plus point.

For all the features ur looking for, look into the iRiver S10 when it is released.

If you need one now, the new Nano is a better choice than the Sony.

BTW if you dont need a screen at all, the new Shuffle is really nice but the S10 will most likely be priced the same

@spyral .... hey thnx for ur feedback...

my concern is Quality Of playback(Assuming the Music is Ripped Well) & also Looking for FM Playback ... as it can keep my Busy For longer when my battery is low ....Rest of the features Are a Bonus to me

One Question: For Sony Players is it a Must to Convert to Artac for playback ? (trasncoding) ??

i know know the Ipod Nano Can Play Mp3 Directly ...

This Sony has native support for mp3's. Although, if ur gonna rip ur own tracks id think your better off with ATRAC anyways..

Also, if your looking for an FM tuner, none of the iPods have those built in. So in that case your better off looking at Sony, iRiver or even Creative I think.
