Sony Walkman Not getting charged, help

Guys i got a sony walkman (mp4 player) from my uncle residing in US. Now, from a year or two,i am facing a problem. Its not taking charging from USB. Whenever it connect it, it starts and then shows low battery and switches off without taking any charging. I went to its service center and they said that They wont service it unless there is bill. As its a gift, so i dont have its bill. What should i do now? In between for about 2-3 days it became allright and the problem solved automatically but now, the same thing is occcuring again.

but inbetween , it was working fine for about 2-3 days......i think the problem is with its charging port....
 
Some sort of loose connection may be. After keeping for charge, try moving the charging cord here and there and see if charging happens.
