I am on a lookout for a high end phone which will be a complete package.(mainly for browsing, games, office docs, videos and camera)

Flipkart is showing similar prices for Xperia Neo and samsung galaxy S. Galaxy S no doubt is one of the best mobiles available today.

But looking at the specs of Xperia Neo, barring slightly smaller screen(3.7 vs 4) it seem to excel in every other department, Especially on the camera/video department. Also it has HDMI o/p and the 2.3 OS.

What does TE recommend ?

OMG!!! I mean cummon, this forum should have a cap on the amount of bullshit being thrown around. Samsung have skipped 2.3 for SGS? This officially makes me ignore your posts the next time i need to make a decision.

Please search for better sources before commenting too. According to that thread the Nexus One would get 2.4 directly but then, for some reason it has already got 2.3. Dude, use your common sense sometimes before posting. All phones, the X10,HTCs,etc are getting 2.3 and theres a leaked 2.3 rom for the SGS out. GAWD!!

Samsung has confirmed 2.4 for sgs officially and they will skip 2.3 for galaxy, this is confirmed news. And either way xda will release custom 2.4 gingerbread for both. I recommend play for gaming tho
did you even read my post in the previous page ?

2.4 is just a rumour don't get too excited buddy :ohyeah:

Sony Ericsson names Xperia Arc CPU, dubs Android 2.4 appearance a 'misconfiguration' -- Engadget

the next version is 3.1 Icecream which will take a considerable amount of time to come out and it will take more advantage of dual-core devices as honeycomb does not do much out of a dual-core cpu.

and btw the [ROM] link you quoted is nothing but the version number of the ROM itself (i.e., Ultimate Droid 2.4) that has gingerbread 2.3 and nothing related to 2.4

I am tired of this.

1. Nexus S will get 2.3 and can be upgraded after that.

Nexus One, Galaxy etc will get 2.4 straight and no 2.3 for them.

2. SE just said that atm these phones won't come preloaded with 2.4. They never said that 2.4 isn't gingerbread. Google and others have confirmed that 2.4 is gingerbread. Please read all the links :). This is confirmed news.

I have posted many links to prove my point.

You links too prove my very point.

I am really sorry for abusing the two of you but I just got angry.

Anyway, peace now!!!

And you can read all links, if you are able to infer correctly, you will understand the point in consideration :)

* none of your links quote any official sources. all of them are dated in early and mid february. all these sites were speculating about the 2.4 version only after engadget reported about the 2.4 number in SE Arc screenshot. which SE itself said that it's just a config error. anyone can just edit the build.prop file to display any number in the version info.

* my link is the one which engadget quoted the SE reply. so it does not prove your point.

* initially 2.4 was speculated to contain google video calling which was then added in 2.3.2 and the NFC capabilities in 2.3.3

if you want to further reply on this issue, post a credible source like engadget or google or SE's or samsung's website itself.
