what are your requirements mate?

these are all fine cards , but tell us what your needs/priorities are and we should be able to tell you which one is better :)

requirements are

i gonna connect it to mx5021(front) and creative inspire(rear)

1st priority - music

2nd - movies

3rd - games
( 3rd do'nt at all means that i need it for games the least, it's jst that i need very gud sound for music and cinema like sound in movies ....i so play lot f games too but with gud sound for these two, it will give gud sound in games too)
and for information..... do sound cards amplify sound.... as if a buy a 70W rms (X-540) 5.1 to connect with sound card...how much improvement will be there

one more question, Are you using ( or planning to switch soon to ) Vista ?

No they dont amplify sound, and your MX should sound better than the X540

Forget the X Fi's

Check out the Asus Xonar D2X/DX cards :D

all i know about sound cards is creative sound blaster coupled with creative giga works :( one of my friend have it. sounds pretty cool :)

Prelude is a fine card and the only card with a Creative chip that I would consider at all.

Xonar's are amazing and sound much better than Creative's stuff.

If your budget is in the 5-6k range go for Xonar DX.

If in the 12k range go for Prelude.

hey buddy....

where to get Xonar DX in 5-6K's....

are you sure 9.5k from kmd ? did you ask for the DX or D2X. DX is 6k

ohh....DX is $90....gud stuff.....

does the D2x also has that "Asus' DirectSound 3D GX " like the DX's to emulate EAX 5.0 sounds ?

and is it worth spending 4K's more if i get a D2X as a future proof investment ?

and as both prelude 7.1 and Xonar D2X are 9.5K's ...which 1 to go for ?

i personally prefer prelude...its a better choice plus sangram is a music master you can ask him regarding the best amps to get attached with this card. he may suggest you the best thing in this category...
