Hi all

SPB Mobile Shell is the most popular app developed and sold by SPB Software. A shell application allows users to customize the user interface of their phone and add features not offered by the original manufacturer, such as an enhanced address book features, phone dialing capabilities, calendar organizers and various utilities for configuring the mobile device. The shell application allows users to include more personalization and sometimes more precision in navigating the phone using gestures. SPB Mobile Shell has remained one of the most widely used and recognizable mobile OS shells in the world since its introduction in 2002.

SPB recently lauched it's mobile shell application for the Symbian S60v5 (5800, N97, i8910, etc).
It drastically improves the UI for symbian touch phones and the kinetic scrolling is very smooth.
And for a phone like the samsung i8910 omnia hd, which I own, this app is a must have, considering its god awful laggy UI.
I've been using this app since morning and it has been running very smoothly. Do try it out.

Can anyone tell me how to stop this thing from loading when phone is booted ?? I think this thing is causing me to not being able to connect to internet when connected to laptop. Not sure but wanna check.

Btw this app is super cool. Believe me guys. I think i will never go back to default home screen now

@OP Thanks for the headsup.

Works pretty neat. I was surprised to see how well it works with touch.

But I find it a little weird. The UI is a little bit confusing and not very simple. I'll still mostly be using default homescreen.

You can customize each of the screens and placements of your icons and widgets as per your convenience. Try a few things and you should be comfortable.

But one issue i have found that after installing this application, i am not able to connect my phone in PC suite mode, it just shows me the USB icon and it goes off immediately. After removing the app, i am able to connect it fine in PC suite mode :S

^ I know that I can customize it however I want, but still, something puts me off a bit. Maybe I'm way too used to the Symbian UI. :|

This software is causing my phone to not connect in PC Suite mode to my laptop. Anyone else faced any similar issue ?

For the app not to start during booting, try to disable the 'Replace task manager' option under settings. Ever since I've done that, it doesn't start on boot up.
