I have a Creative Inspire 4.1 4400// I am not that happy with the performance.Should I go for Creative SBS 5.1 560 for total Surround sound effect..(i have onboard sound card)

Care to explain what "not happy with the performance" means?

Does it mean its not:

1. LOUD enough?
2. Not enough BASS to drop your knickers down?
3. Not enough CLARITY to clearly amplify the sound of knickers fallin' off Juno in Juno? (nice movie btw)
4. Not great positioning for real good SURROUND?

'Cuz whatever the answer to each of those 4 questions, LOUD, CLEAR, BASS or SURROUND - the SBS 560 would make you hit your head against the wall. :)

Simple words> No. The SBS 560 would suck as a replacement. Please tell us your requirements, your usage (movies, music, gaming, pr0n) and your budget - and whether you REALLY need surround.

:ohyeah:

PS: Sorry for the slightly acerbic post. Couldn't help it. :bleh:

3.Clarity
2.Bass
4.souround.

budget will not cross 4k anyway

naah..they wont make much of a difference

the problem i am guessing with the inspires is the boomy bass....the sbs WILL solve that problem

i guess its better to go for a good 2.1 set

dump both of them...and for 4k get pair of good 2.1s(read:atp3)..or may somethin even better..which gives u clear sound ...and tight bass...trust me dude.. good 2.1s sound better than those crap boomy 5.1's...

spend da remaining amount from da 4k budget to get a good sound card (something better than onboard)

which 2.1 and sound card do u suggest??

2.1 speakers .

either the altec lansinng atp3 (around 2,700 bucks)

The Tech Zone Altec Lansing ATP3 PC Speaker Review
OR

Altec Lansing VS4121 (no idea about price..but a bit more expensive then atp3)

any of the above 2 along with a good sound card would be the best budget sound setup in my opinion..

for suggestions on soundcard wait for other members to reply..i dont think and audigy will fit u r budget..maybe a 24bit sound blaster(if u find one..)

wait for someone else. to reply regarding soundcard...

by the way is your onboard really very bad ?

+1 for atp3 ..Its one of the most recommended speaker systems on TE.
And as far as the sound card is concerned i think u can get ur hands on a audigy value card for somewhere around 1600 bucks.

^^ dont you think..for 2.7 k ..or a tight budget ..the ATP 3..is good enuff..and worth pairing with a decent sound card ??

i am not a audiophile ..or something..but can make out whts good and what isnt...and i feel that the atp3 is a decent pair of speakers..and far better than those creative crap..

the atp3 is a good system(i have it at home for my comp :D )

i think the vs4121 costs around 1k more(not sure) than the atp3 so its still in your budget.

in anycase its not more than 4k

with the speakers being mentioned here, onboard sound solutions are just fine and they cant bring out the difference that sound cards give so IMO sound card will be obsolete

^^ but that depends on how good or bad his inboard is.. .. some onboard sound cards..are good enuff for decent speakers..while some are not...
