searching for a AV receiver and Speakers. budget 1L.

would like to know if anyone used Harman Kardon or Yamaha sets (both my fav) . which one would you advice.

prefer floor standing speakers.
 
Are you looking for an AVR and a full 5.1 speaker package? What all sources would you be connecting? Do you need HD audio decoding? What about upscaling?

You could look at the Yamaha rx v4xx, 6xx series along with a 5.1 speaker set up based on Wharfedale Diamond series/ Q acoustics 1000/2000 cinema series.

If music is also an equal priority alongwith movies, check out the Marantz NR1501, 1601.
