I am looking to change only the speakers in my Swift ZXi.

2 Front Door

2 Rear Door

They should be the same size as the existing units and should fit without modifications.

I do not want to change the head unit as of now or the layout, for my own reasons.

Any suggestions?

Please also suggest dealers. I have seen Sound FX, as I am very close to that shop in Andheri E.

Kicker & JBL seem to be shortlist as of now.

Budget - Not really, anything is Ok.

Sound required: Clear sound, well balanced, no going overboard on bass/ treble.

Music listened:

Classical Ragas, Trance, Techno, Indipop, FM. :P

Usage, only when driving, occasional.

Go in for DLS Ultimate UP6i components upfront. they are 6" components so they will fit in Swift stock location.
You could go for DLS co-axials at rear, same 6" ones.

Or you could go with Illusion Electra EL6.1 in the front which are 6" component speakers and Illusion Electra EL62 which are 6" coaxials for the rear.

You will need an amp to exploit the full potential of a component set so consider a good 4ch amp too.

JBL speakers are on the brighter side so I never liked them anyway. Kicker is known to make good mono ,2ch amps and subs not for their speakers so cant expect much from them but then I have never heard them so cant give a clear opinion.

You could also check out Infinity components, from the same stable as JBL but slightly better.

You could also look for Hertz Hi Energy sets, even they are good, slightly expensive though but worth the money.

I am just running the Illusion Electra 6.1 Compos in the front in my swift and i just love them. As Amey suggested Illusion Compos with a 4 Channel Amp.

Stay away from JBL ,I've got them in my Swift Zxi ( 607 components in front and Ovals in rear with a JBL CS60.2 amp for components ) .

They dont sound all that great and as Amey said they are kind of very bright sounding . I dont really enjoy listening music in the car . :(

Prices please guys, else there might be another Rip-Off...

Also any links for the specs/ units?

Anyone else for suggestions? Was thinking of joining Team BHP for this question...

Is the AMP essential? Can it be hooked up with the Factory fitted head unit?

I understand the Illusion 6 1 speakers would be good in front. What about rear matching with them? The illusion 6 2 will suffice?

Not essential, you can run it off the HU.. but you probably won't be exploiting the capabilities of the speakers fully. You can probably do that for your next upgrade.

Guys,
I need to change my rear spkrs for santro. I am tight in budget. Can anyone suggest me good pair of spkrs which will fit in santro factory fitted rear slot?
Budget - 5000.

Ok, guess will get this done soon now, 15k should cover it then :D

EL6.1 components upfront and EL62 co axials at the rear if you want to install them in the rear doors or else EL693 ovals which you will need to mount on your rear parcel tray. Choice is yours.
Usually you should stick to the same brand when it comes to speakers. They say if you go for different brands, there is a possibility that the timbre of the speakers wont match, eventually ruining the whole experience.

Yes you can run the components off the stock HU but as Eddy said, you wont be exploiting the full potential of the speakers.

Also remember to use good quality cables when you install. Atleast 16 Ga OFC
Something like Showa or even Illusion RSC would do.

I have used Illusion throughout in my setup in swift and Showa in the getz, both are pretty good.

I was referring to speaker cables not RCAs. Yes stock ones will do. Later on do go for good cabling though, speakers as well as RCA.

Suggest me a dealer for Mumbai please.

All the dealers I know don't have Illusion.

Focal 6 1/2 components are being suggested @ 20k for 4. Auditioned them, sound okish, not very impressed.

There are lots of fakes in Focal so be careful. Focal is a good brand and hence the products aren't dirt cheap so beware.
You could try FM Drive at Santacruz or Boom at Bandra,Carter Rd.

Ajay Kamath deals in Illusion. After i got a few changes done from him, he textd me a few days later, just to check whether i was satisfied or not! It was a simple and small job, costing approx 20k, still he gave me excellent cust service. He is the best in Mumbai, very very knowledgeable!
If you want his no., pm me.

^^ +1
Both my setups are done by him. I deliberately didn't recommend his name since these days he is very busy with uber high end setups along with HT setups.
Still you could try getting in touch with him,if he has some spare time, he might do it for you since its just a matter of few hours.
