Okay here's what i'm going to use it for: GPS( without internet conn), 3g coz i'm going to use it for at least 3 yrs, and Wi-fi, coz my new college campus has free Wi-fi:P. the cam isn't very important, and i'm okay with symbian, though android is definitely a preference.
Another important thing is that since I'm going to use it fo 3 yrs, reliability is an important factor...so does that discount HTC? what about samsung reliability?
I really like the nokia nHD resolution...how do the other phones compare in this respect? I will watch quite a few movies on it.
Will the Nokia 5800 receive any more firmware updates in the future? it's been around for two years already and i dont' want to be stuck with old softawre for three years.
i found an app called Big planet which saves maps for google maps offline...anyone care to comment on how good it is? Can it be an able substitute for ovi maps? i will need GPS a lot since i'm going to an unknown city for further studies.
Spica availibilty is dwindling and i5800 hasn't even been officially announced yet. the C6 seems to have been pushed back by Nokia's urge to launch the N8 early. My budget is abt 15k and i can wait till 1st july. So what do i choose?
i know that's a lot of questions, but i hope you guys will answer them...:)

For offline GPS and service/build quality -> Nokia

I'd say wait for the C6. That is really a nice all round phone. And trust me, for the nHD / 3.2" screen , it feels more like a mobile phone than an MID. :) If you do not find the C6 when you intend to buy the phone, there is always the 5800XM.

or maybe u can go for n97 mini.same ofr better specs than c6 in some places.i use nokia maps which is extrememly useful.for a better satellite lock i use garmin and after getting the satellite lock i switch to nokia maps

n97 mini is out of my budget man...but it's a really nice phone

Nokia X6 available for 16K locally with bill. Looks totally awesome, but not that good hardware specs wise compared to Spica, but everything works fine.

nokia E52 , really nice successor to the E51

Hey my phone is gonna b my primary source of entertainment for the next 3 yrs, so i'd rather buy a touchscreen phone wid a 3.2 inch screen...thx though

if u want it to be a source of entertainment for u then better stick to nokia or SE which provide excellent value for money on the entertainment side

If GPS is ur main concern go for Nokia 5800,OVI maps are too good to be used.. Else Spica will do ur job.. For Entertainment you need good sounds and thats with Nokia 5800...

well i u want good entertainement, good gps and better camera with good build quality then go for nokia n97 mini or wait for nokia C6

Wait for C6... coming around mid next month. Played with it... great hardware. The X6 is a decent device in your budget but i'd suggest the C6 because of the widget homescreen interface. Or if you can stretch then the mini is for 19k MRP so u might even get it a bit cheaper...
