Can any one tell me what will happen if Line and Neutral are reversed in a three pin plug
 
wont happen unless some idiot electrician /you wire the plug the wrong way :P

still, shouldnt be a big issue
 
Lol it happened when i got a cheap flex box (extension cord) is there a big problem with that ?
 
OT : Guys what kind of damage can occur to the electronics i.e. in a laptop/desktop if the earthing is not available.
 
Well this is an issue mainly with those ethernet cables dangling from trees that go from house to house.

See, if someone got bad earthing, a spike travels along the ethernet cable and can blow ur NIC or worse even the motherboard.

Techincally speaking this is most likely during lightning but thats really what a good spike protector would be dealing with.
 
On the same topic, are there any good spike busters around with the multi plug type? Not the cheap local ones.

I'm using MX spike buster MX Products and find them to be good quality make. No prices are mentioned on this link but the link by Eazy is nice... :)

Its important for the proper functioning of the spike buster that Live line be connected appropriately. All 3 indicators should indicate normal mode.
