Dear friends,
I've bought a LG BS-Q186C8R2 1.5 Ton Inverter AC 2 days ago. The AC has not arrived yet. They are supposed to deliver and install it this week. Being a first time AC buyer, I am learning a lot from googling. But there are few questions those I can't find any answer to.
My room is 11'x13' (10' roof. other floors above it) plus an adjacent 8'x5' extension (8' roof, not floor above it).
I can install the AC only in the extension part of the room. It has 2 out-side walls (east and south) where I can install the indoor unit. My preferred wall is the south wall (shaded by tree). But, in that wall if I install the AC, then there will be approx 6" open space left between top of the AC and the roof. (Rest of the wall is a big glass window.)
The east wall has more space, but then the AC will not be able to throw air directly to my bed.
Can anyone please answer:
1. How much gap is recommended between the top of the indoor unit and the roof ?
2. What is the best place for the outdoor unit to prevent water leakage (or to increase efficiency) ? Above the level of indoor unit or Below the level of the indoor unit ?
3. I've got the permission form electric company, done the electrical wiring and installed Havells AC starter. I'm currently in the process of insulating the doors and windows. Any other thing that you think is important for first time AC buyer ?
4. My location in Kolkata (Calcutta). Any tips for hot and humid climate like ours ?
Thanks in advance !
