Any one subscribed to this channel for 60 rupees a month? Want to know if the channel puts those animated promo ads of their other serials on top of a serial currently being aired.

I just hate those ads. Seem to come on every corner of the screen, from top of sub titles, on top of peoples faces etc. Wonder which idiot thought of starting this trend. Feel like punching that person. :mad:
 
Nah, but some new shows coming there. Already paying for GrandSports and HD pack and 60RsPM subscription comes along.
 
No ads like that. If you ask me, am I happy with the purchase.

Why NO:
Basically, its 3 to 4 new shows everyday between 8 pm and 12 am.
Then whole day these shows and previous days episodes of other shows on constant repeat for the remaining 20 hours.

Why yes: Its 60 Rs a month. I save bandwidth of downloading of these shows. Its HD .

Isn't 60 too much for just one channel?
Comparatively, the HD access fee of 7+ channels is 100. Wonder if HBO hd channels will come to TataSky.
 
There is lot of noise on the IBF forum about this. On one side Tata sky says they do not have bandwidth to add more HD (??) channels and on the other end they add this as "SPECIAL" and charge the users extra money. Most people who had issues with this were the Mega pack subscribers.
 
TataSky is adding new transponders to their setup. They have some 900 crore expansion plan or something.
Mega plan subscribers should get this channel free. Why does TataSky advertise freedom from price increases & new channels added free of cost in their ads?
 
Personally I'd like to see HBO, BBC, NDTV and Ten Sports in HD first. They've already jacked up the monthly charges by some amount.
 
Ndtv is an ad channel. In 30 minutes of news, their ads come for around 16 minutes. I actually measured it on ndtv India (hindi news channel) twice or thrice on different times to make sure I was not counting extra. Went to their website on mobile and was greeted with an ad covering most of mobile screen.
ndtv is a joke. I think they have an ad channel too. Saw it on wikipedia I think.

TRAI regulation of 12 minutes ads in 60 mins of programming is of no use. These channels break every rule possible just because they know they can get away with it.
 
Yes NDTV app sucks. And moreover they are congress pimps. Loved the way that news anchor was given replies when she questioned some UK leader on Modi.
Infact most news channels are trash, "India wants to know, the country needs answers", wtf on times now.

Wonder why none of the channels confirm to trai rules. Is trai only a regulatory body without any real powers & just some body to give suggestions?

On the other hand I see these very same channels put out those anti smoking and anti tobacco ads with some real world cancer patient's pictures. Saw it on star movies yesterday. Damn thing came while I was eating dinner. This anti smoking campaign by govt is so irritating.

Its simple. Its a regulatory authority. They need to set rules n regulations, execution is secondary.
Its all about money. More Ads = More money for channel = more revenue for government. They certainly dont want to reduce revenue.

Oh yeah, tobacco ads shown in theatre and now on TV. another masterpiece of the government. No need for BTL work, expensive and cumbersome. ATL work is good enough for them.
 
My worry is that Star channel will move some good shows to this channel exclusively instead of showing them on the usual Star World HD channel :( At least we have other channels like Zee, FX etc though they aren't HD.

all of these channels have such ugly, huge logos which occupy 30% of the screen. :mad:

and worse, they are dangerous for plasma tv's. my 2012 samsung has got the bloody colors logo burnt in despite me taking all precautions and care for the first 150 hours & beyond. :rage:

also what is the point of putting the name of the show constantly alongside the logo? whoever is watching an HD channel will be doing so on a STB which come with EPG's. :banghead:

in the US channels have such nice, translucent, subtle logos.

if it wasnt for other family members i would've cut the cord ages ago.

Totally agree with you. Star World HD already has a horrible show schedule. Whenever I switch to it, they're showing One Tree Hill. I don't know if it's just my luck but that's what i've observed for the last few months.

Of course some people might like One Tree Hill, but that's besides the point. The schedule already sucks, and now its going to get even worse.

And don't even get me started on the other issues. The logo size, the 4:3 aspect ratio on most SD channels even though CRT tvs are history. The completely irrational censoring. I mean, i've seen them censor the word s$$t and convert it to c$$p, why on earth would they do that? Its the same thing!
 
though star world premiere HD is fantastic since it broadcasts shows under 24 hours in some cases. it is really not worth 60 bucks.
it should be available as a package. Star has put this conditon even on videocon d2H HD.
the premium is too much to ask for when most of family members would be watching news channels most of the time(primetime).
also with censoring , it aint gonna help.
i am happy with the downloads(1080p HD for Web rip, watch as per my convenience,Ad- free and stupid censor free)
 
60 Rupees for one channel? What the what? It could be 15 rupees at the max.
Love the whole replace torrents for 60rupees buzz. Very clever.
 
On Videocon D2H, i have normal SD box and i cannot even go to channel 652 (which is this star premiere HD), i just get Invalid Channel.
Whatever i would not really subscribe mainly because of pricing and censoring of stuff.
