Hi Guys

I messed up with the registry yesterday and my entire windows got corrupted

so inorder to do a backup i did one more install of windows on D Drive as i

needed to backup data on my C Drive.

Now i want to ask is , since i had already registered CS Anthology PAck on my steam id.

How do i go about installing CS Anthology pack again on a fresh windows , will steam recognize it again after i install or will i require a new serial key.

Now since i have done a fresh install of windows

1.> I dont have steam installed nor have i installed CS Anthology Pack.

2.> Now if i install steam first and login my steam account and install

CS Anthlogy pack will it detect my CS PAck as legal install.

Thats what i wanted to ask.

Will i be able to play online again.

Sorry for this foolish question.

Hope u are understanding my problem.

ok..
i guess the default installation path is
c:\program files\steam\*

move / copy the steam FOLDER to other drive..

download steam client from here

after installin new windows..install the steam from the aboce link & run the steam client for 1 time..
then exit steam
go to BACKUP steam & copy "steamapps" to new steam folder.:)
enjoi.

once u have registered ur game with steam u wont need to enter the cd key again. all u need to do is logon to your steam account and u will see the list of games u have already registered with steam. from there on u can dload the games off the net or install it from the cd.

Steam is actually not bad as it is made out to be :)

steam also allows u to backup ur games to avoid reinstallation...

Or... You can backup your game from steam itself... And when you want to intall download steam and install and update steam... Then just execute the backup copy of the game...

To make a backup do this...

Steam>MyGames>CS>Right Click>Properties>Local files>backup game files... Now select what all games you want to backup :D...

steam has turned a complete 180 after it was launched, and yes id have to agree its not as bad now, it still has some annoying bits but EA is back on top with its crown in annoying/frustrating and god knows what else department :ohyeah:

I have just now downloaded steam and now when i am trying to login steam is

crashing.

sometime it happens to me also.

another problem you might face that the STEAM doesn't start even after a long time. STEAM.EXE is in the process list. If you re-double-click, it will say - "already running" :@

RE-INSTALL + DEFRAG works for me.

I got the procedure to backup switch.

Now how to restore it.

When we reinstall steam and when the game is not installed and now when

we click on the games list in our steam account will it show restore.

Is this the way restore works.

EDIT:

I didnt knew that it created a setup based backup thats really cool.
