CPU/Mobo Strange PC behaviour

Today morning when I switched on my computer, it refused to boot(no signal to monitor). I removed the side panel and figured out that all fans including smps fan, GPU fan, CPU fan were working properly as well as mobo LED. So I removed all peripherals except HDD and RAM, computer still refuse to send signals to monitor(connected DVI to integrated GPU) .

One strange thing I noticed, at random(though 2-3 times out of 50 attempts) computer boots normally without any hiccups. I am unable to figure out the problem. Any help in this regard would be highly appreciated.

PS: I tried clearing CMOS also.
 
Did you check you monitors cable?? Check whether its connecting properly to you vga output.... many a times it happens that the problem is basic one and we start troubleshooting from the extreme possible problem...

You have GTX460 as per your siggy...Did you try it both on GFX card and integrated VGA/DVI port?? Mostly the DVI connectors dont fit properly and due to this even if the pc boots, still you wont be able to see anything on the display... Sometimes due to movement of cabinet, you get the display and you think as if it comes up sometimes and goes again... maybe this is a problem, waiting for your input

Yeah I tried connecting DVI port again and again but no result. Also I tried on GFX card as well as mobo integrated DVI port.
 
Take out the ram, clean the connectors, blow air into the slots and reseat the ram and try again. Most of the times the problem will be with improper ram seating. If you have more than one stick, try inserting the ram one at a time.
 
Make sure there is no loose contact at the monitor end.. Usually, the plug behind the monitor becomes loose from time to time.

I don't have mobo/case speaker.

Tried swapping both ends but problem still persists.
 
I have a similar problem and in my case there was some problem with DVI port on monitor. Better to check if there is any display with VGA out.
 
Do assemble from ground zero with minimum accessories like no dvd rom only 1 ram stick(also check without ram stick do u get beeps).1 or no hdd(if none you will get boot error but your comp screen will work).DOnt connect mouse just keyboard and keep adding stuffs one by one and keep running setup once you add new accessory one by one.

And yes also reset cmos battery and other stuffs.Also if it doesnt load remove the monitor cable to see no cable signal message to verify nothing wrong with monitor.

I have a feeling its either related too psu and gfx card or onboard display or cmos setup corrupted.If it would had been ram you should have got BSOD.

I tried few times with the bare minimum setup but result was same in all attempts. It looks to be PSU or mobo issue. Sometimes computer starts perfectly fine, sometimes it starts but restart/stop working after POST or windows loading screen and other times nothing works(no signal to monitor).

Never faced this issue ever. :S
 
Still facing the same issue. I can start my computer and work like normal randomly after switching it off/on 10-20 times. I have to keep it on stand by mode for whole day coz most of the times when i switch off, it refuses to boot.

Anyone ever faced this problem?
 
TIf you have 2 sticks of RAM (not clear from your siggy) try one at a time at different slots. Also Run memtest to make sure your RAM is not faulty. Another thing to check maybe power. Check connecting to mains directly without the UPS (use a surge protecor/spike buster though). Then make sure the psu is alright. If you have a spare one, try connecting the bare minimum components and boot.
 
OK. Now open your cabby. Keep pressure on the heatsink of the processor with hand or any other tool and power on the system. Check it and let me know if it works in the first go by applying pressure on the heatsink
