Strange Speed Drop On Airtel???

Ok....so this has to be a new one from Airtel

i m currently on dsl 250 + night topup...

my double speed starts at arnd 9:10 PM

now the problem i have been facing the past few days is....

i login using my id....get double speeds for exact 1 hr....then speed drops to 256k

now when i disconnect and then reconnect my speed is back to 512K for the next 1 hr...

called up the CC and they have their lame excuses ready as always....

so i ask this

ppl with home 999 plan getting double speeds....r u guys facing the same problem???

how abt ppl with same plan as mine
 
me on the 256kbps plan with night ul from 11pm to 8am. get 33kBps during day on well seeded torrents and 50-54kBps during night ul
 
^^^ so no strange speed drops after 1 hr?? mayb this is just a Delhi/NCR thing....

some1 from delhi/NCR with 256 UL plan....confrim my queries.....
 
Nope....its not a delhi thing... my connection has been running just fine since 9PM... no speed drops here.
 
Just took Airtel broadband and got the Airtel 256 UL plan @999p.m. Have a couple of questions.

1. Does the speed double at night on this offer? If so, then at what time to what time?

2. Read in some other posts that you have to sync at some rate i.e. 544 kbps for 512 kbps. Is there something to do for a 256 kbps line? Cuz I'm getting downloads at 28.5 KiBps max. I wanna get the whole 32 kbps and more to make a more efficient use of my connection.

3. Can I purchase a better modem myself to get better speeds? They have given me a Beetel 220BX.(with internal firewall. I had to open two ports via the virtual servers option for Limewire and uTorrent.)

Have you filled up the forms? The Airtel executive who comes to your place to collect the money will tell you if the double-speed at night is available in your area.

I'm not sure about this either...but i generally get around 25k. Maybe some other Airtel guys can shed some light on this.

I dont think you have any other options that will work with your Airtel connection.
 
damn....seems like a problem in my area then....its not my pc thats for sure...a frn of mine is also experiencin the same problem...

now the airtel tech guy wants to come at my place and check the line....wonder wat he'll check on....no problems in day time....
