Heres what i got:

Dear Mr. Gill ,
Thank you for writing to us.
We have received your e-mail dated 25/03/08 regarding Third Party Transfer facility.
Thank you for your feedback on process of Activation of a beneficiary after 24 hours through a TPT transaction. We understand your concern however this is done for security reasons. Effective March 24, 2008 a new beneficiary added in the TPT List will be activated only after 24 hours of him/her being added to the transaction list. We regret we will not be able to turn this feature off, the system does not allow any manual intervention and a beneficiary would only be added 24 hours.
Warm Regards,

So basically it ll take 24 hours before adding a new acct to the third party transfer :P this sucks :@ :@

I used to mock the ICICI system which sends you an sms and requires you to confirm the same through your mobile/email before adding, but at least that was done in 2-3 hours at the worst. In my opinion that is a much better solution than just torturing people by making them wait 24 hours.

To top it all: my addition is pending since 48 hours

This sucks.

Everyone who hates this: raise a ticket using the contact us tab on the top of the online banking homepage (once ur logged in).

+ NO Notification of the same was given.

i guess its applicable for transaction within the bank too..
coz just today i added a beneficiary.. n it still shows pending approval

I hate this. Took more like 48 hours instead of 24 hours that they say. Bah. I'm switching to ICICI soon anyway.

this is so sad for TPT through NEFT now....i have to wait 24 hrs to add a beneficiary (hoping it happens after 24 hrs) and then another 24Hrs for the money to be transfered..this is sh!t....hate it

axis bank never did that to me, usually I add the benificiary and then I pay them through power transfer. very straight forward.

I applied for an HDFC account on the 14th of March and the account is still not active. I dont understand why it takes this long for opening an account.

ICICI is way better!! :)
