I have a sub 15K budget( max 16k)

Have shortlisted the following 2 phones -

1. Google Nexus One- 13-13.5K (from US) including customs/shipping

2. Motorola Defy - 16K letsbuy.com

Need

1. Decent processor/gpu - should play atleast SD videos properly without conversion(avi/mkv/mp4). currently own zte blade which lags .

2. 3.5" or bigger screen

3. Decent cam(with led).

4. Decent music capabilities/speaker.

Nexus one has a 1 ghz processor while defy seems to have only a 800 mhz processor .Also Defy is a little over my budget ?

Any pros of Defy over Nexus one (except no warranty with nexus one) ? Or any other phone which u guys can suggest in the price range

Thanks :)

Nexus one has a 1 ghz processor and a graphics chip while defy seems to have only a 800 mhz processor and no graphics chip. Also Defy is a little over my budget ?

Nexus One

1GHz Cortex A8

Adreno 200

Moto Defy

800MHz Cortex A8

PowerVR SGX 530

ZTE Blade

600MHz ARM v11

Adreno 200

I think Moto Defy would be a good option, but have a look at the Spice Mi410 too, much more powerful specs at the same price, bigger screen as well.

Oh ok ..gsmArena didn't mention a gpu hence was wondering..

Didn't want to go spice way .....want to stick with samsung/lg/motorola

From gsmArena review

Codec support is limited – DivX wouldn’t work, just XviD. And then only up to WQVGA resolution (400x240). Higher-res videos seem to need more processing power than the DEFY can offer.

only 400 x 240 :O hence was a lot confused

I've played 854x480 mp4 xvid videos on defy with 2.1 and official 2.2 without any issues so you need not worry, i've even played 700mb dvdrips directly on it without any conversion :P
