I know that currently a thread is active which talks about seedbox sharing. But for me this is new so i would like to test the waters before taking the plunge. Hence i am on the lookout for a very cheap option of seedbox that i can use. While searching i found this link where people are discussing about cheap seedboxes.

CHEAP Seed-box? - BitTorrent - Peer to peer

Now if anyone of you is using an reasonably priced option and dont mind sharing what service it is please list down here. I was able to find quite a lot of options in 10$ or so but in may cases the space provided was very less. Also i dont know much about the technicalities of the seedbox. I mean i just want an easy to use one like
i download the torrent,
upload in seedbox client,
seedbox downloads it,
i ftp / download on my local pc.

Would really appreciate if someone could help me out in choosing a new seedbox with cheap rates and unmetered traffic.

I did find a good one (10$, 15GB HDD, 5 active torrents) yesterday but the website has been blocked by china telecom. i used the website thru pr0xy but that may not work well later so did not take any chance.

dude 15GB would be too less , you need at least 50 GB and for that you have to spend atleast 15$

Also why do you wanna download files from your seedbox , cant yuo directly download them , the seedbox is much more useful for beefing up ratio's

What is the use of a seedbox if you won't utilise the things which you will download? I am opting for a seedbox to download files at a faster rate that I can with my connection. The faster I get a file from the tracker, the better it is. Also, since the seedbox has a fatter pipe for uploads, my ratio is maintained automatically so that is not an issue.

I have a 2Mbps line and once the download is complete on the seedbox, I will download the files to my box using a download manager. I know it will be same as downloading directly to my box, but this way, I can better utilise my connection as I will get the files to my box at a consistent rate of about 220kBps.

As for me, I have always maintained a good ratio for every single tracker I use. So I would not go in for a seedbox if I only had to maintain the ratios.

^^ thats exactly why i need the seedbox for..

the downloads rate from many of the torrents is not consistent on my 2Mbps connection. But with seedbox i will be able to (hopefully) download the files to my machine at consistent speed. Moreover it would boost my ratio also since getting just measly 256kbps as in mtnl or 600 kbps in china telecom upload speeds do no good to the ratio.

I dont know about you but i max out my connection while downloading from the
torrent directly so downloading through FTP wont serve any purpose

^^ thats correct that you can max out the connection but problems come with uploads. If these telecom service providers also provide 2 Mbps upload speeds and then probably we may not need seedboxes etc.

I get a ratio of 1:6 with my connection. Sometimes downloads exceed 290kBps and uploads are a measly 30-35kBps max. On normal days, I get 220/30. If this up/down ratio is better, I will not need a seedbox, but since this is not possible in India, the seedbox will have to do. :@

With my connection, I download 15-16GB on a regular basis, in one 24 hour period.

Maintaining ratio on Airtel connections is not a problem as Up/Down speeds are same. I don't know how much upload speed we get on BSNL. I was thinking of taking BSNL Home-256 which offers speeds upto 2Mbps and night downloads free but don't know what would be upload speed, Can anyone comment..

in my experience, ftp down speeds from seedboxes are very low. hope others can enlighten us about that

Na, that's not always true. It depends, but i used to get 236kBps consistent in my old 6$ seedbox..
