PC Peripherals Suggest A Gaming Config for 70k

My dad finally agreed to the budget  I guess I can increase it a bit more :eek:hyeah:. A 22inch LCD preferred.

Checked out Siddhu's guide. Well I would like to hear different set ups. I'll be OCing. And apart from this budget, I'll be shelling out 10k for an audio setup (Stereo). So 70+10.

anyidea how much the Sapphire HD4870 512Mb DDR5 costs ?

Do you guys think the SB Live 24bit or Audigy value decent enough for the MX5021 :p ?

Yeah seems to be good enough DP; But which C2D re?? :p

Get the E8400 if you find the E0 stepping at a good price. A big no-no to C0! Period!!

Else even the E7200 is a decent buy. I'm unsure of the stepping though. [Was it M0?? :S] Clocks 4G with absolute ease.

If not the HX620 even the VX450 can easily handle the 4870, just in case the budget becomes a li'l tighter towards the end. :p

What brand for the HD4870're u looking for?? Damn, u could've grabbed FM's Sapphire 4870 which was on sale for 13k odd. So damn a sweet price.

But 4 grand for the WD640 is pathetic. U may want to get some stuffs shipped from Rahul @ IT wares. :)

LG 224WS

I feel this one is not that good for gaming.
You can atleast go for Viewsonic VX2235 WM-5 (for 12 -12.5 K) it has 2ms or if you add another 3 K to it you can go for Samsung T220 latest in every sense and high specs.

Its a e8400 and yes it'll be a E0 stepping :p. If i can find a e7200 with good stepping i might pick that up mostly lets see. This fellow will have loads of hdds re. HX620 will suit him better and i already bought it y'day.

Looking for the Sapphire HD4870. I would prefer local warranty otherwise it'll be a big PITA for me to replace the component if anything goes wrong.

Yeah 4k is pathetic, lets see.

Sent a pm to Rahul to get the quote for e8400 and HD 4870, haven't go any reply.

Hmm.. I heard that LG 224WS is better than DELL 228WFP. Anyways, have to do more ground work in that.

13k odd?? :O damn! sure its 13k odd??

^ hehe, he bought it from US through KMD, with you am not taking any chance :p

For LCD i'll see if LG 226WTQ is available. 5ms should be fine actually, haven't faced any sort of issue with my Dell E228WFP. The budget is 13k for the LCD btw. don't think 15k or so is worth for 22" LCD which will be basically a TN panel. Rather put in few more thousands and get the 24" :p. And the OP doesn't like viewsonic LCDs coz of the birdie logo on the bezel

Hey.. nothing to laugh about :hap5: I jus don like de birdie.. :p

KoE- i second almost every word DP has posted. :)

DP- config and plans look great- all the best. :hap2:
HX620 is a must have- VX450 is a good psu but no no for this rig.
7K for psu out of 77K for the rig is a minor investment for absolute peace of mind. :)
Zhops has a X2 3600+ with Jetway 690G but he still bought a HX620 then as he was gonna keep adding bigger HDDs as his HD collection grew and we can't take any chances with our stuff na. :p

BTW- how is this LG 224WS?:S
And how does it compare to the LG 226WTQ, which iirc was a good LCD and some said better than the Dell E228WFP? :)

And how is the LG ASS?
Viewsonic ASS sucks monkeyz ballz for sure- almost firsthand experience.
3 years back, when i was looking for a CRT, Tracerbullet had suggested i avoid VS for the same and looks like they still haven't improved a bit.
Samsung guys are pretty prompt in responding but i dunno if they have any decent panels for sale and reasonably priced for that matter.

Also paying more for Dell if the retail rates are up is a huge pinch.
Someone picked up an E248 via Dell EPP for a lil more than the retail price of the E228- 16.8K iirc.
It used to be a lil more without EPP at one point of time.:p

^I'll have to do some research on the LG model re. Lets see. Dell retail prices are sad. From what i heard from Delta, they said the LG ASS is decent. Else i'll eat the head of the guy who this to me :p.

Which is better- 16:9 or 16:10, from a PC user point of view? :ashamed:
And what's the difference between the E and M apart from looks, maybe a webcam and the seemingly lower power consumption on the E?? :S

16:9 is always better. Movies will take up the whole screen w/o wasting any space on black bars. Games nowadays support all aspect ratios so that's a non-issue.
