Storage Solutions Suggest a good burner

I need to buy a new burner. Prefebly a SATA but i wont mine picking up a PATA also if there is a price difference and no performance difference. Need to buy one quickly and should be readily available.

Kindly suggest...

samsung sh203 d .. got one for a friend for 1150rs :)

and the tray issue is solved now .. so if u take good care to prevent it from dust then the tray issue can be avoided .. and all drives suffer from tray issues .. my old benq as well as lite on drives have given me tray issues cos of dust . its not a samsung specific problem ..

will get this samsung one very easily .. we got it locally for 1150rs .. i think with good bargaining it can be had for 1050rs as well ..:ohyeah:

and if u dont get this one ( which is quite unlikely ) do get a lite on drive .. model no.. hmm no idea ..but it should be 20a4p something like that ..
 
Got the samsung for 1100 bucks today... Hopefully its a good one... And Green... Thats too much loyalty for the LiteON Mate :)
 
dint want you to get it. just wanted to let you know the liteon alternatives that were there since you were curious.

Any love i have for liteon is due to c0deking. whatever drives he will release FW for , i will buy . his stuff is amazing :)

I think he must have some goodies for you too :P

sorry for bumping this thread, i also got a Samsung SH-S203D today. Any feedback from the users who are using it?

Will be installing it next week only, will post some scans after that :)
 
^Nice drive. Not too much better than the Benq 1655 though. Both are pretty much equal for SL media, the Pios are the best for Verb DLs.
 
i got the same samsung 203D yesterday, it has "OCTOedge" written on the tray, wonder if that is some partner/retailer or what...

so far wrote a couple of CDs, seems okay for now...

what software to use to scan/check the drive?
 
Hmm got the Samsung 203D today after techhead advised on it. I just hope it doesnt suffer the same reading issues as my 1 yr old Sony writer....

Yeah and can I scan disc's using this ?
