Suggest a Good Internet Dongle according to my usage...

Hi Guys,

I have shifted to Hostel and need a USB Internet Dongle for using internet

I need it only for surfing pages(techenclave, few tech websites and forums, FB and general browsing)

No Downloading at all and no Videos streaming as I will do that in my home (I come in weekends)

So please suggest me a Good one according to my usage.

Cheaper the better!

Usage: 1.5 to 2 hrs 5 days a week :)

ALSO TELL ME THE BEST PLAN ACCORDING TO MY USAGE. I AM LOOKING FOR THE CHEAPEST PLAN THAT WILL GET THE WORK DONE :)
 
Well, I'd suggest you to first verify and test all of them (if your friends having any).

As dongle reviews differ in every area.

You can try Tata Photon+, it's good for normal surfing and all, video streaming works well for me too. But can't say how it'll perform in your area. So ask them for a test. Or visit nearest Tata hub and check it out yourself.

Otherwise you can also go for Vodafone / Airtel 2G and Huweai modems.

I want to know which plan is best for me... I need the cheapest plan hat suffice my needs..

So please suggest a plan

I don't wanna have a plan that I won't even use properly .

My suggestion is BSNL 3G data card

Dont go for TATA, they have the worst customer care & worst 3G network.
Those bastards have yet to replace my 3G ZTE MF631 dongle.
first, for a whole week the network was down, then when it started working, that p.o.s data card stopped working last week, made a complaint on 24th, told me it'll be resolved on 29th, but yesterday when i called the dehati CC, the bloody cheats they are told me that the 'rejholbing thime' (resolving time) is 2nd of september.
called the local manger, he said the same p.o.crap, i hung up, went to BSNL exchange & got a 3g demo card.
its 100% better than the tata docomofo, i can even make calls/sms from it.
Today bought it, with 999 (10GB) plan.

may be not, as cache may save some bandwidth but the more you surf (different pages, checking mail from time to time, login account etc) will definitely eat bandwidth. If surfing with disabling flash/images will save lots of bandwidth.
 
Get an unlocked device (Datacard) like Huawei E1550 (3.6mbps) or E1731 (7.2mbps) and then you can try with Airtel or BSNL as suggested by other members, don't purchase the service provider specific device like Tata Photon+ or any other such... You may not able to use it freely in other cities if you have to by chance...
