You can get the Old Palio 1.2 for dime a dozen in that price. Their resale value is really poor and makes it a buyer's market. The other option is a used Getz. Lots of space however FE is not amongst the best. At around 3.5lac, you can also find used Lancers.

are you planning to use the car as an alternative to the train, or just till your dad gets better ?

I think the odds of a car accident are a lot more than a train accident

How about an Ikon? Flair if you're after mileage or 1.6 if you care for performance. I believe 3-4 year old 1.6 models are going for a little over 2 lakhs.
