Graphic Cards Suggest a PSU for an 8800 GT!!

erm, this probably has been asked a million times, anyhow i'm heading off to Bangalore to buy a new PSU for an 8800GT i'm gettin :cool2: i have a budget of 2k, can stretch it to the max to 2.4k, which PSU would you guys suggest? My config is as follows :

AMD X2 3600+ Windsor
80 GB IDE + 250 GB SATA + 160 GB SATA
Creative Live! 5.1 24bit PCI Sound Card
LG DVD-RW
and 2GB of RAM, i've attached two 80mm Fans with Molex connectors.

I'm a complete n00b when it comes to PSU and "How much power does this component consume" so a little help will be appreciat :hap2: :hap2:
 
The Coolermaster Extreme Power Plus 460W would fit the bill and leave u with a change of a couple of 100s; :)

Had u got around 600-700 more, perhaps the Corsair VX450W would be the best choice; :P

How come 2.4+.7=3.1 is Cosair availabe at that Price:huh:
 
Thanks a lot :) time for a noob question:

How is the Corsair better than the CM when they have the same Wattage? Pretty sure it's not only the wattage that matters, but just feel like knowing :P
 
Quality of the components like caps used, Active PFC, massive heatsinks, a better 120mm fan, better amperage on the +12v rail, the quality of the OEM manufacturer and so on; :)

@rockyjvm: predatorvj had quoted a price of 3.2k IIRC in his deal thread; hunt; :P
 
Guess it can't be helped :D will try and do some cash-gathering and go in for it, any trustworthy shops in Bangalore that might have teh Corsair in stock? Any shops you guys recommend?

yes ,extr 1K is justified.

you will get a PSU that is much reliable with good components.
CORSAIR 450W has average rating of 450 W while CM 500W PSU has max. power rating of 500W .

so CORSAIR 450VX is what i think is best PSU in that range .

Bikey i did not compare These two. what i am saying is the price range of the two are completely different. almost Rs 1000. so how cant the two be in the same price range? j
