Suggest a Refrigerator ;)

Got the following prices from Lajpat Nagar, ND.

Samsung RT-26 = Rs. 14800

Samsung RT-23 = Rs. 13800
Godrej EON 26C (non-metallic) = Rs. 12800
Godrej EON 26D (metallic) =Rs. 13800

Planning to go for the Samsung RT-26.

Will a 1KVA stabilizer do for the refrigerator ? Which one will be better, Logicstat or VGuard ?

Yup, they do come with in-built stabilizer. But the place I am staying is very old and the wiring is in mess  no grounding, and voltage fluctuations, so decided to get the extra stabilizer as a precaution.

better look at the grounding part immediately, new fridges require a separate and good grounded connection.

reason why i'm telling this is bcause, if any theres mistake in grounding then any metallic part in the fridge body will give a shock to the person - it could be handle or door hinges and will be a cause of concern maybe later on.

i got a shock from my old fridge once and was thrown abt 2.5 feet backwards.
so u can imagine the intensity of the shock!!

Ah that way.. VGuard is widely used so you can go for that i guess..? Btw, an idea how much was the RT-34 ?

The RT-34 should cost around 20k, you can check the prices at India's shopping & price comparison site, consumer buying guide - Compareindia, i have found the prices to be quite close.

Hmmmm, thats scary. Yeah, I was always concerned by the grounding stuff, I called the electrician and got a seperate connection created for the fridge and also asked him to check the grounding, everything seems to be okay now :hap2:

Interesting thread...anyone has experience with larger units. I have a 16 yrs old Sharp fridge which is now giving trouble. I need somethinh in excess of 300 ltrs. I hear brands like LG and Samsung have reduced prices but quality is much poorer for most electronic products.is the same true for fridges too?...if so, what brand would be a safer bet?

Samsung RT-23. Very fast cooling, less noise, spacious, good after sales service, low voltage consumption, no stabilizers required... Using it. No problems. You can buy it.

Whats with the color dude/damsel?
