Storage Solutions Suggest a robust 1TB hard drive for OS and back up

I am presently using a 500GB HDD and a 180GB SSD to which OS will be installed. I will want to know which are the most reliable, fast internal hard drives available in the market(online&offline buy). I have bought Samsung and Seagate drives until now and RMA for seagate seems the easiest. Also does the manufacturers still offer 5 year warranty?

That's true. however, WD RMA needs customer send the drive back to their office?
Also, any specific 500GB or 1TB hard drives from WD or others - particular model?
Also, is WD Blue good enough? is WD black worth the extra money?

I wrote about that too in the last post. They pick it up.. And they drop off a new one..
 
@cool_cat : am in the market for a similar need. Almost finalized WD Black - the only drive with 5 year warranty. Problem is that most of the online sites are showing old models (not recommended due to smaller platter size). Finally settled on WD Blue or a Seagate Barracuda 7200.14 drive.
All the others (incl. Blue & .14) offer 2 year warranty). For sheer speed, it is the WD Velociraptor.

General advice: do not keep the OS & Data on the same drive.

Most likely, will be ordering tomorrow.
