Suggest AC for 190 Sq.Ft. room

Guys,

Please suggest me an AC for a 190 sq. ft. room. I'm a working professional living with friends. Never know when I might need to change home/city or go for higher studies(thus leaving the AC at home). So my requirements are as follows -
1) Energy efficiency should be moderate. Not too low but I don't want to pay too much extra for higher efficiency as I might need to sell it after one year.

2) Guarantee and Service quality(whole AC, not just compressor) should be superior and long period. If anything goes wrong, it is me who will have to waste his whole day getting it repaired. :( Thus no compromises here.

3) I'd prefer a lower tonnage if cost savings (price only, not concerned about electricity in the short term) is good. I can tolerate a few more minutes of heat rather than shelling out extra bucks. I heard that putting a lower tonnage AC in a bigger room damages the AC. Although my understanding of science says that it shouldn't happen, only it should take much more time in cooling. Still you guys can better comment.

4) Don't know about other features like moisture, sleep, bio, blah blah... Please let me know some must-have features to look for.

Room features - Top floor, 1 wall exposed, 2 walls inside house, 4th wall is glass only facing north-east(curtains are there).

It is obvious that since cost is a concern, I'd go for a window AC only.
I'm in Gurgaon, so if some of you think that with my requirements renting an AC would be better, comment on that also. I have ruled out the latter as the rent is too high (6000 per year) and electricity consumption is also high(supposedly).

1.5T is a must go for 3 star rated AC..

Carrier Estrella 1.5T with energy efficiency of 3 star is a solid machine with high air flow and fast cooling.......will cost around 22k.....

voltas and whirlpool also have 3 star 1.5T window AC options in 18.5k budget.....

First of all 1.5 tonnage is must for such kind of room

I think you should change your mind to split as you will be shifting the ac in future

Better bet will be split

Onida 3 star will be around 23-24k

Godrej also in range below 22k. (One of my friend is using it,so he said its good)

Window a/c will have higher noise levels,if you have strict budget concerns voltas comes under 19k

I'm also planning to buy window AC 1.5T capacity.

Samsung models 16-17.5K

Whirlpool 1.6T newly launched 19.5k (with a 3000/- reebok shoe offer)

Give indian companies a look. Onida and Videocon ACs would give better warranties. Onida gives 3 year service warranty. Videocon uses imported Hitachi compressors.

Status of following brands:

1. Hitachi -> Best of the Lot but if you can afford

2. LG ACs -> Perfect Service

3. Samsung ACs -> OK Service

4. Godrej GWC 19G3 1.5 Ton -> Good Cooling and low noise, OK Service

5. Videocon ACs -> Pathetic Service

But if budget is not a concern then go for Hitachi.

Did a market survey and booked a Whirlpool aviator 5 yesterday, went for the top model that comes with 5 start rating and is 1.5 Tonne. Final price 32k includes installation.

Just wanted to know on what basis are people suggesting 1.5 Ton ?
As per this site AC tonnage a rough estimation of the tonnage should be about (Area in Sq. ft.)*26/12000 so for a 190 sq. ft. room that should be 0.41 and I guess the closest u can get to that is 0.75 Ton. Also, it is suggested that for best energy efficiency one should get an AC that is closest to his requirement and not oversized.

And for a more accurate calculation one could check here: Accurate AC Tonnage . Although, you would need to find a US city with similar climate (Las Vegas for Delhi maybe and somewhere in California or Florida for Mumbai). And it is a bit too detailed for me.
