Suggest an accounting Package

It looks very impressive and it's got mobile apps available as well, which is a big plus in my book. Give it a spin, and see if it suits your needs, and is easy to use.
If you're going for the community edition, see how active and helpful the community is before you commit. And if you're able to migrate your data out easily.

It's a really good find. Test it, and please share your views once you've spent a few days with it.

If you want to install it online you can create an account here and get free cloud hosting : openshift.redhat.com/

That way you could make an account for me in your demo install, and let me try it out as well! ;)

Eh, One Q, Want to install in Standalone laptop. Is it possible ? Dont want to install on server with 24*7 net connectivity.

SugarCRM site shows paid editions while Sourceforge shows as free. whats the catch?

You'll need to install MSSQL + IIS +PHP if you're running Windows, or a WAMP package.
You can download the stack here.
http://sourceforge.net/projects/sugarcrm/files/1 - SugarCRM 6.5.X/FastStack/

And you can download the community edition of SugarCRM here:
http://www.sugarcrm.com/thank-you-d...load&utm_medium=regform&utm_campaign=skiplink

Catch is, no dedicated support, access to limited extensions only, etc.

Installing it on your laptops fine, but it's overkill for a single user scenario. And kind of defeats the purpose of having a browser based CRM solution.

any free alternative to tally with better UI than it for india? tried a few like gnucash but they dont follow the indian accounting system. would prefer one that allowed importing from tally.

Thank you. It will be too much (MSSQL + IIS +PHP ) to install just for single user on laptop. I can try SugarCRM community but wish it was simple with just one exe to install. Any tips ?

Let me know if you find anything. Happy to take in bulk with you or share 1 license of tally.
