the opteron 165 is also a dual core processor. it runs at the same speed as x2 3800. but the opteron has 1mb l2 cache x 2 compared to 512kb x 2 for x2 3800.

also the opteron do overclock better than the x2's.

@rave. i read somewhere in the forums that someone said zb01 was 2.5k

opteron 165 runs at 1800 mhz whereas
X2 3800+ runs at 2000mhz!!!! without overclocking..

Hardly matters. I'd take the extra 1MB cache and overclock the bejesus out of the opteron. It'd hit higher clocks than the X2, guaranteed!

First lets settle this. Are you going to overclock or not? If u are go for the opty 165 as everyone said. If not then go for either X2 3800+ or 4200+, thats up to u.
