Rahul, when you say "the following things must be followed", do you mean you just need a board + cpu + RAM + chassis + psu? Be more specific.

Well, since AMD and Must be Dual Core.

CPU - Opteron 165 S939 - ~Rs.18000

Mobo - Asus A8N-E - ~Rs.6000

i said tht u must take into cosideration these points....so u r right!!

my config is ...
1) AMD X2 3800+
2) MSI K8N diamond plus or ASUS A8N 32 sli deluxe(confused between these)
3) VIP G300 cab
4) kingston or corsair or hynix or any 1gb ram (help me )
5) 500W psu (suggest)
any modification will b welcomed!!!!!

why dont u do yourself a favour and go to the price guide section and see all the latest prices of watever u need !

no gfx card

do u already have one or u dont need one ? if u dont need one then wats the use of that configuration anyways ? that config is for gaming dude and if u dont game then much less will do !

anyways :

CPU - Opteron 165 S939 - Rs.17000
Mobo - Dfi Lan party nf4 - Rs.9000
RAM - 1GB*2 Trasncend Samsung UCCC - Rs.9000
super lan boy cabinet with ccfl - Rs. 6000
antec smart power 500w psu - Rs. 4000
Sedate 200 gb SATA hard disk - Rs. 5000
Benq 1650 dvd rw - Rs. 2800

the price of the x3800 is good.
so get that. 1mb l2 cache will not make a huge diff for u. might make a little diff in gaming. & y do u want an sli mobo, are u using sli for this config?

x2 3800 = 16k
asus a8ne = 5.5k
trancend 1gb x 2 uccc = 9000
zb01 cabinet = 2.5k
powersafe 600w or skyhawk 640w = both around 5k

total is 38k. that leaves you with 12k for a monitor. u can get a good 19" flat crt for that rate. i would suggest the phillips 19" monitor cause they are great & support high refresh rate @ high res.

CPU - Opteron 165 S939 - Rs.17000
Mobo - MSI K8N Neo 4 Platinum - Rs.9000
RAM - 512MBx2 Trasncend (Samsung UCCC) - Rs.4500
Cabinet - Antec Super Lanboy - Rs.5500
PSU - Powersafe 600W - Rs.5000
Hard Disk - Hitachi Deskstar T7K250 250 GB SATA2 - Rs.6000
ODD - Benq 1650 dvd rw - Rs.2800

Total - Rs.49800

Opteron because it has 1MBx2 L2 Cache & OC's like hell.

You don't need a SLI mobo too.

IMHO this config. will rock.

ok i dint realise that u dint need the monitor. & i also dint know that the opteron is down to 17k. so pay 1k more n get opteron.

also the rig udit posted i would suggest u save money on the cabinet & get 1gb x 2 ram instead of lanboy & go for the vip zb01 for 2.5k.

& depending on the usage of your pc u can decide if u want to buy 2hdds & use raid or just use a single hdd

opteron 165 = 17k
asus a8ne = 5.5k
trancend 1gb x 2 uccc = 9000
zb01 cabinet = 2.5k
powersafe 600w or skyhawk 640w = both around 5k
benq dvdwriter = 3000rs

so that is 42k. you are left with 8k. u can buy seagate sata 160gb x 2 in that price. or u can also stick to 1 hdd & buy the 250gb udit mentioned.

zb01 costs 3.5k+, somewhere around 4.2k...

the opteron 165 is also a dual core processor. it runs at the same speed as x2 3800. but the opteron has 1mb l2 cache x 2 compared to 512kb x 2 for x2 3800.

also the opteron do overclock better than the x2's.

@rave. i read somewhere in the forums that someone said zb01 was 2.5k

why all of u r suggesting me opteron processors?????
r they better than athlon 64 X2 proc.???
show me any benchmarks in ur support!!!!!

Hey, everyone out here is taking some time to help you out and only posting their opinion;
its upto you to decide whats right for you- as per need and budget!!:cool2:
and you demand benchmarks to support THEIR claims!!:S
It rather seems like you are challenging Technology!!

These are not SOMEONES own claim but what's a well known fact!!

Even a super dummy like me will tell you that- IF two proccys run at same speed, the one with more cache has better performance!!
And being the true enthusiasts that they are, they are just supporting the one thats not only better at stock but also a better Overclocker!!
My Dear TE Gurus, please correct me!!:cool2:
Coz i suffer from FOOT-IN- MOUTH disease!!:ashamed:

And what else will one use GOOGLEy baba for??

And rahul_TECHEE:huh: , if you didn't know that then Request for help like i always do:p !!:cool2:
