guys suggest me bookshelves speakers for music and movies :ohyeah:.....my budget is max 20k...

good sound quality is the priority....plzz share your opinions...:D
 
Wharfedale 9.1 - decent bass,very laid back sound,better paired with a sub.

Wharfedale 9.2 - a BIT more bassier than 9.1,rest almost similar.

Wharfedale 10.1 and 10.2 - slightly more revealing than 9 series,but nothing MUCH to choose between otherwise IMHO.

AudioEngine A5 -Good,tight bass than all the above,nice midrange and OK highs.

Whatever u buy, plz plz DO NOT do so without a proper audition and the sound signatures all depend on the source u r using to feed these babies.
 
not a particular fan of polk.. u can get better speakers for the price. however if u manage a demo' u might like em.
 
^^I don't think Polk Audio makes powered bookshelves. Are you willing to invest in a separate amp to power them or are you looking for powered bookshelves? If it is the latter, the A5 is a pretty good choice. If you are going the amp + passive bookshelves way, they ^ have already listed the probable suggestions and you will need to shell out close to 10k for a good desi amp - either DIY or from Norge.
 
^You do realise the difference between passive and active speakers? Your Essence STX card will NOT be able to drive those TSi series directly.
 
A5 is a good deal. If you feel the bass is less, you can add a sub to it as well. Please read up reviews.
 
@Vasishta.Sushant: He means Adam A5, not audioengine AE5.

i was also searching in this price band and i researched quite a bit and found that A5X is best bet if bajaao is offering at 24.5K a pait. But see here:

I believe that A5X is at 49K a pair whereas A5 is at 36K a pair.

Audioengine AE5 is at ~18K

KRK RP5 at 27K is not a good choice from what i have read

M-Audio BX5a is priced decently at 18K but i dont know how it compares with its peers above.

I guess then the best option within India is Audioengine AE5 unless toxicdrift gives us a deal on Adams/KRKs/M-Audios.
 
i own the krk myself. they r quality monitors. im really sorry for the delay.. i hopefully should have everything proper by nextweek.. coz my friend might be making a visit himself to clear all the previous orders and make new tieup's for newer brands... will get back asap.
 
shipping to kolkata is pain.. ali the form50 shit...

here in kolkata there are some good audio dealers i will ask them if they can bring the audio engine a5....

any opinions on m-audio bx5a???
