If u are gonna get a external HDD with E-SATA then yes. But i guess both the Gigabyte and MSI boards have USB 3.0 ports.
SATA 6Gbps wouldnt have a great impact as normal HDD's fail to even saturate the SATA 3 Gbps bandwidth. But if you are going for an SSDany time (which i guess u wont) then its better to get a mobo with SATA 6 Gbps.
