Suggest me a good ISP

Again I am starting a thread.. Please suggest me a good ISP , I am sick of my ISP and its problems :mad: The on I have Connect $^@% .. They didn't provide good speed @ torent 1kBps in 512kbps plan  When I enquire them they are saying we do not support torrent , and now they are saying they don't even support FTP

Donno but recently I get good speed with torrent and I downloaded 10Gb+ HD movies/// But now its same again  Can there be a workaround ?

Here what I am looking for .. Must provide full speed with torrent , should not have fair usage policy and all... and if possible reasonables plans.. I am fine with Night Unlimited..

What to get . I cannot get BSNL, I would have tken it if I would have got their PNT connection..and getting a new connection is pain.. :(

What are the alternatives..

1. Airtel [Fair Usage Policy : I enquired a lot and everytime they say we don't have such issue :p Even the manager told me he downloaded 40 Gb ahem movies and yet no speed reduction

2. Tata Indicom.

3. Reliance ?

Don't have any idea abt tata and reliance. I would prefer NUL if their prices of UL are a bith higher :p

Please suggest me asap. It would be great if some quote me the contact number of the respective ISP..

Regards

I've been using Airtel for over 4 years now. Totally awesome service when compared to other ISPs and though there''re some talks over their fair usage policy and people coming out and making online petition etc and other useless stuff, fine line is 100 GB/ month is way over what one would require so go with it.

I know there are guys who download / upload more than > 100 GB but they will argue with me, but reality is "they are bandwidth hoggers" and ISPs really really really really don't need them.

I won't be downloading 100Gb :p and I don't uplaod anything :p It will b around 10-30 Gb depending on if I reallly want it or not :p

Is there any workaround for fixing my net with torrent ? It did worked with full speed for few days...

lol....

dont make a nutjob out of urself .... seriously man, talk some sense laaa....

if someone pays for unlimited broadband connection, he is entitled to suck as much bandwidth as possible in the defined period only limited by his speed (which he took the plan under).

u cant call anyone a bandwith hogger, if u dont download that much...

when i was @ my utele 2mbps UL plan @ 450rs (modem hacking did the trick), i used to download like 300-400 gb/ month..

even with my current mtnl NU i download like 180gb/month...

i am payin for it.... i will download so will the other bandwith hoggers :p

@ Dark Star------->

Considering ur usage, it is advised that u opt for airtel 512kbps plan as it comes with 100gb FUP, which is quite good considering the fact all other ISP`s are using this draconian policy more dangerously.

Yeah Airtel FTW...! Fantastic service and more often than not ull get more speed than what u paid for...

Im getting around 150KBps download on a 1Mbps line...

Whats the charges for 512 kbps UL ? Do they have NUL plans too ?

Also 100Gb /month limit wil be too much for me.. I don't download everyday its once in a while thing.. So 50Gb/month should be good.. Do they have 383kbps plan ?

Well Tata indicom wimax is pretty good for me atleast getting 70kbps torrent speeds on 256kbps connection UL :bleh: why not give it a try installation is prompt and immediate

Dont go for Reliance under any circumstances. I used it recently and the connectivity was pathetic!

Im currently using Sify, and n my opinion, dont opt for that either! The speed and CC is bad.

Airtel has quite good reviews and so does Tata!

Im conducting a survey on all the ISP's, by the end of it Im sure Ill be able to solve all your problems!
