Hello friends ...

I decide to upgrade my system (Finally i get money for upgrade).I choose AMD Ph II X4 965 CPU (Right or Wrong choice) .I dont know much about AMD. So i need ur help to choose Mobo and RAM for X4 965 .

My budget for Mobo and RAM is 9-10k . Pls suggest me a good mobo and RAM within my budget (for ocing ).

I have one of the best 790fx mobos for sale...take a look in my profile. for ram I would choose the gskill trident or ripjaws.

790fx is a superb mobo if u want to hit 4ghz OC mark, better heatsinks on bridges & mosfets keep it much cooler, Gskill ripjaws for ram for 9k-10k budget

Only problem in 790fx is NO USB 3.0 & SATA 3 ports, but u can add them via pci/pci-e cards later.

Ok .I will check .

How is Mushkin RAMs ? Mushkin 2x2gb 1333 MHz Or Corsair 2x2gb 1600Mhz which one is good ?

Edit:-

Any one tell me how much i get for my mobo+proc+RAM ?

Mushkin rams are sold by pheonix in dealers section, 4gb for rs.3600, but check their specs & compare with gskill or corsair.

I would prefer a Core i5 760 + MSI/Gigabyte H55 + 4gb ddr3 Mushkin/g skill total 22-24k

Should be better at least for gaming

  • With a HD5850 and a VX450 wouldnt it be pushing the VX450 if u get a PhenomII X4 965 and O.C it too?
  • C2D that u have is low power consuming 65w TDP the PhenomII X4 965 consumes almost double and if u are planning to OC too i think its not advisable.
  • If u wanna get a upgrade immediately, I would suggest the Core i-5 760 ~ 9.8k + Gigabyte P-55-UD2 ~ 6.4k + Corsair XMS3 4GB 1600MHz kit ~ 4.1k --> 20.3k
  • Since u have a decent setup i would suggest u to wait 2 months for the Sandy Bridge. The 32nm fab will get u better performance per watt and improved architecture too. :)

I would really suggest you dont do this rather find a q9550 , that would be better than this x4 965 if you really want an upgrade, and would make more sense on your pocket. The x4 965 wont be bad but for the amount you will end up spending it wont feel like that much.

My reccomendation if you want to blow 25k look in market section for good deal on full i7 rig you should be able to get board cpu ram in 23k (2nd hand ofc). After that upgrade to a beefy psu and then to a mad gpu and you will be set.

My budget is only 16-17k max for cpu+mobo+ram .

You need to set aside 4k for RAM.

Remaining 13k for your CPU + MB.

Get a Core i5 + MSI H55 for about 13-13.5k

ooops sorry saw that late, I suggest you wait a bit like 6 months more save more money and get new intel setup coming sometime in Jan Feb next year, that will be a good upgrade that will last you a while. I personally feel E7200 to i5/P4 965 etc isnt a big enough upgrade for your gaming needs, hang tight for a while longer and get something thats a BIG upgrade for you that will last you a while.

TRy Getting a i5 760 - 9.7k , Gigabyte GA-P55-US3L - 6.3k and Crosair XMS3 4GB DDR3 KIT - 4.4k ...
