Suggest Slim Camera plz **URGENT** :)

Hi All,

My friend is going to buy a slim camera today evening.

His requirements:

Should be as compact as possible

Should have an LCD Viewfinder if possible

>=6 MP

Image Stabilizer (preferred)

Not too expensive Memory format

Budget<=15k

well, i would suggest the sony dsc t77

Sony Cybershot DSC-T77

canon ixus are also gud, but when you want a slim camera, nothing else will come close to this and the indian price i have seen on ebay and stuff are around the 14 k mark, which makes it a very gud deal.

+1 , u can blindly pick any IXUS series in your budget ...I personally own the IXUS 70 and its awesome.....

Casio Exilim EX-S10 iv got one myself
AFAIK or when i bought it atleast it was the worlds slimmest and smallest 10MP camera

go for ixus 880. if you have less budget go for sd790is. i had this camera. takes brilliant photos and very compact too.

The Canon SD series is for US only it seems, it is known as IXUS for rest of the world, and the IXUS 790 IS was quoted at 19k :O so that is out of question.

At present am looking at the Nikon S210, theres an offer running which has Nikon S210+4GB Card+Tripod for 9950, not bad is it? :). Any more suggestions?
 
yeah the AD has been coming in magazines & newspapers...

the deal sure is VFM !

But for 15k, he can check out the Nikon S550 (minus all the freebies)....
 
I still suggest you rethink about the decision......

I suggest you still stick to either a Canon or the last option a Nikon....

my picks in your budget range would be :

Canon IXUS 80 IS - 12.3k

Nikon S600 - a lil over your budget - 15.9k

The S210 lacks VR / IS technology....ask me cause my IXUS 70 lacks it to.....and it makes a lot of difference ensure such basic things are not left back...

whichever you find at the right price !
Else settle for the ixy 80 (slim,sexy & decent performer)...

well canon ixus 90is (SD790IS) is not that expensive. maybe u checked at a costly mall. if u order it by KMD u might get it for around 12.5k.

@OP- Check out Ebay pricing for the camera you're looking at, on applying the coupon they're priced quite well and come with the standard India warranty.
 
I still suggest that you go for a canon IXUS camera...

Another reason why I am stressing on Canon is that you can get a firmware addon for canon, it's called CHDK (CHDK - CHDK Wiki). With this CHDK on your canon you can get pro features... The rest is up to you...
