Suggest some good foreign language movies and tv series.

amelie , life is beautiful should get you started ...heh those are the only two foreign language movies i ve watched :S ... ...but both of em are brilliant
 
I tried watching Run Lola Run, but didnt quiet get it, so gave up halfway.....should try it again. Another film I've heard great things about is "Das Boot".

BTW, i liked y tu mamma tambien, japanese version of dark water,the thai movie Eye,ichi the killer, battle royale,etc,etc.
 
You saw the horror/thriller movie dark water or the crappy one where some guy gets kidnapped and blah..blah..saw the crappy one on cable.If you are into horror..I highly recommend the grudge especially the japanese version even though the english remake is scary but not as scary as the original.And since Grudge 2 has been released..saw the trailer,had me on edge for days.

Well madmonkey i say the original japanese version of dark water.It was the horro one ...nobody got kidnapped there.I have seen grudge as well as "Ringu".Didn't like grudge as much as i liked ringu.Other interesting movies were "inner senses","wishing stairs(or was it vanashing stairs?),"the phone", infection,etc,etc.

Those japanese chicks with long hair kinda freaks me out!!!

I am not a huge fan of chinese movie but i liked hero.

Also can somebody tell me where to find the old doordarshan tv series "khile ka rahasya".That was genuinely scary and i have been trying hard to find it everywhere. Can somebody tell me where to get it ???? I promise i will shower that guy with reps.

Arrow, I won't just suggest foreign movies, but directors as well. Check out Pedro Almodovar especially 'Habla Con Ella (Talk To Her). He's one of my favourite directors. Then there's Alejandro Gonsalez who directed the brilliant Amores Perros, 21 Grams and now his most recent Babel. Another of my favourites is Wings of Desire by Wim Wenders. This movie is the original City of Angels, not the cheap hollywood trashy version with Meg Ryan it was remade into.
