Graphic Cards Suggestion for Monitor, PSU and GFX card - considering my processor !!

Guys need suggestions for PSU and gfx card, my config is :

Intel core 2 duo 2.66 GHz
Gigabyte G31- S2L
Transcend (1x2Gb)+(1x1Gb ) 800 MhZ DDR2 ram
Seagate 500 GB SATA 7200
LG DVD writer
Samsung 943 SWXPLUS 18.5" LCD (1360 x768)

Looking to buy PSU + GFX for around 8-9k............looking for HD 6770 1GB DDR5+ CX 430V2 !! :eek:hyeah:
any suggestions for monitor too full hd...may b 22" or more? (around 8k)

I ll b playing NFS,CS and FIFA titles...just want to play at medium - high settings !!

Just wana make sure whether my processor or mobo would be a bottleneck? please suggest me considering my budget and specs... :D

spend 300 more and get seasonic s12ii 430w which is better than ss series, has 5 year warranty, you can upgrade the gpu in future on this psu.

Even the SS400 carries 5 years warranty. And till which GPU can he upgrade in future?? 6850 is max that we recommend for even a Seasonic 430.. and same thing applies to seasonic SS400 :) ... The option you have given is damn good but it almost the same. If this guy wants to upgrade to a higher gfx in near future, then seasonic 520 is the way to go...Rs.300/- more and seasonic 430 wont fetch him something that can handle 6870 or greater cards. My personal opinion though :)

Seasonic S12II 430w is better than the model you mentioned chirag :) SO IMO OP should go with the S12II 430w model...

Monitor - Acer S221 HQL @ 7.5K http://www.techenclave.com/show-off/the-everyday-show-off-thread-124079-263.html

GPU : 6770

PSU : Seasonic SS400 80+ bronze at 2.3K or Corsair CX430 V2.

It wont bottleneck on the titles you are going to play. :)

Not about the titles friend....but will my processor be good enough to utilise 6770 completely??

seas

and guys what if i am getting VX 450 for around 2.5k used one...is it better than seasonic 430w/400w??

the only concern would be warranty....!!

and btw what about benq 2220 hd or any thing in samsung or dell.....didn't find many buying acer so jut asking !!

As I said, your processor wont be having any problems utilizing 6770 completely in most games . May be can be bottle necking at 2.66ghz in most demanding games at full hd reso :). Mostly at such high resolutions, GPU does most of processing, CPU is utilized less.

Used VX450 is also a good deal for 2.5K.. If its for 2.5K then I am sure the person selling would definitely have warranty left on his product. Yes its better than Seasonic 430/400w.

Acer is a good brand. The monitor is also nice and looks great. Benq G9222HDL is another option. I dont have pricing of Benq 2220HD as of now.

thanks for the prompt reply chirag..!!

someone at the thread has quoted benq 2220 hd for 6.9k as well !!

but i dont know about the picture quality and hence asking for suggestions on monitor !!

btw one more thing...as i have been reading....6770 is just rebadged 5770...so is it worth to pay extra or should i go for something else??

Yes its just a rebadged 5770.. IMO not worth paying extra..But at the same time not good to buy one generation old product i.e 5770.. But if you want to go for something else then up your budget and get a 6850 at 9K... Other options are 6790 at 7.9K or GTX550 ti at 8K. If I were you I would have gone for 6850+VX450/SII430/SS400... If you are strictly restricted by your budget then get any 6770(any)/5770(hawk). I am contradicting on my statement here, but 5770 HAWK is a great alround performer. If you plan to stretch till 8K, 6790( long PCB) or GTX550ti (asus direct cu top)....

if you are going to get benq g2220hd then get hd 6850 for fhd gaming,6770 won't be able to give higher fps on 1080p reso.

OP wants a 1080p monitor, but need not game@1080p. I am currently gaming@720p on my IGP with low setting:p

Also dont bother to go with any nVIDIA card less than a 560Ti as others on the forum have said AMD offers better performance/watt ratio and more VFM.

thanks for the price list chirag....btw its not the budget but i dont get much time for gaming...!!

just for weekends thats all....and just want to play all those games...stutter free and widout any pixalated gfs.. :p !!

so spending extra bucks won't do good mate.....btw i think 6770 can even handle crysis at medium settings....so i can go with that one !!

what u say about 6770+vx450/seasonic 430w (btw any idea about which is the gfx card vx450 can handle at the peak load...?? just in case i wana upgrade or else thinking of going for seasonic 530w with 5 yrs warranty !!)

@vivek and tech savy, thanks for the replies guys !!

just help me decide now the monitor....anything in the range i specified??

vx450 can handle hd6850 nicely as i am running it in my rig,hd6950 will be the peak for vx450.If you want future proof psu then get sesonic s12ii520w-3.6k or corsair gs600-3.8k,as per monitor Benq G2222 LED Monitor-8.3k,if you can stretch the budget little bit BenQ G2222HDL LED-8.7k would be a good choice,AOC e2243Fw is another good option.

Well,, if you are buying an LCD/LED monitor, be ready to play the games at native resolution only, anything lower than that will give you an hazy-odd picture quality which is not at all pleasant. So don't go to full HD monitor(22-24incher), until n unless you are ready to get at least 6850 (you may need a better proccy also later on),,but 720p/hdready resolution (most of 18-19 monitor), 6770 will play well.

thanks for suggesting monitors.....i think going for seasonic would be better option for me then as i can upgrade my gfx if i need to !! :)

btw any idea about ASS of BenQ? never dealt with them before !!

is benq better than samsung and dell??

satyanjoy....if we are keeping the aspect ration of 16:9 same i dont think it will give any problems !!

i think the case you said will arise in case where we are running games at 1280 x 768 on a LCD having native resolution of 1366 x 768 :)

As gatekeeper has said, VX450 can handle card upto 6850 easily, Have seen my friends using a 6870 on it too. Yes, get a seasonic 520w :)

Again I say for the titles you gonna play on HD reso, 6770/5770 is more than enough. Also you will be able to play games like crysis bit smoothly but with reduced eyecandy. If you are ready to compromise on it, then 6770 is a good choice for you. :) Please check if you find 5770 HAWK before buying a 6770 reference card. I think 6770 Direct Cu will be a good choice as its available here in India.

IMO, if you are planning to get a full HD monitor till 8K then any brand would be just good enough. Theres hardly any difference in the specs, only the contrast ratios change. I am using Acer S201 (720p), and its having a good picture quality. You have choices between Benq,Acer,Samsung,AOC,LG,Dell... All of them make good monitors
