Hi friends

below given is my existing Mobo-Cpu-Ram

Core 2 Duo 2.53Ghz E7200|
Asus P5K PL CM Intel G31/ICH7 Chipset 1333 FSB|
Kingston DDR 2*1 GB /800 Mhz

i want to upgrade it (should i upgrade or shud i stay with current one)

should i go with INTEL or AMD config ??

my budget would be 9-10k (even less would be appreciable):)

i would use system for playing HD movies, listening mp3, browsing net etc.

is it possible to get future proof config ? :)

Your rig is good enough for your usage. From your specs i see that you dont have a GPU and what PSU do you have?
If you have a Generic PSU and no GPu then i would recommend the following,
GPU - HD5450 1GB DDR3 ~ 2.6k (for acclerating HD movies)
PSU/SMPS - Gigabyte Superb 460 ~ 2k

Rest of the config is more than enough for your usage :)

Else you can wait up and upgrade to Llano. (It has HD55xx/HD56xx class graphics built in into the CPU :) )

Thank you for your suggestion Darkangel.:)

i will first upgrade the PSU/SMPS then will go for GPU.

As i can see Llano is much talked processor ..will the HD55xx/HD56xx class graphics built in willl make much difference ???

will socket get changed in AMD too ??

The HD55xx/56xx GPU itself is worth ~4.5k. So if the processors are priced well then its a super buy :) Plus they mostly gonna consume lesser power when compared to equivelent CPU+GPU. Also lesser noise for HTPC's.

Plus they are planning on hybrid Crossfire with HD6570/HD6670 with these. So end result will be gaming power close to a HD5770-HD6850 :D

i will prefer to wait till Llano appears on the grid along with the new mobo's.

thank you darkangel for your kind advice..

:)

Assuming the things you mentioned are the primary tasks you need a pc for, your existing pc looks somewhat future proof. :P

All you need is an entry-level/midrange HD 4xxx/HD 5xxx card for smooth and good HD playback.
