Suggestion needed regarding audio system

Hi guys,

I have a old SONY MHCGNZ8D mini Hi-fi System. But the problem is its middle unit is not working properly; but all 5 speakers are in good condition, now to setup 5.1 system what other component i need so that i can use it with my sony lcd 42" ex500. Please help....:)
 
a friend of mine also had the same problem...he used some adapter which he bought from a local market...he connected those speaker wires to it and connected it to tv output source...it was a 2.1
