Suggestion regarding Router purchase

Asking on behalf of a friend who is a Hathway ftth user presently (pppoe) and looking to purchase a good quality router in the range of 2500 to 3000. A gigabit one will be preferred goes without saying. He doesn't want to purchase Chinese companies like TP Link and others. So please suggest a router from a good brand which will be used for next 5 years or so. Are Asus ones good to consider?

Another thing is, if he switches from Hathway to Jio, will this router become pointless as Jio provides their own?

you can always use a your own router behind hathway/airtel/jio. so it wont be useless.
gigabit in 2.5k - not sure but there are a few models.

He doesn't want to purchase Chinese companies

Tell him that the ISP cable which comes in his house is also from China incl the rj45 connector etc.
Ask him to check Dlink, Netgear, Asus, Linksys but these too wont be mfg in India or US/UK but China!

Agree with that non-Chinese brands is hard to find especially in these kinds of devices.
