Suggestions for a 2.1 speaker system

Hi guys,

I am planning to buy a 2.1 speaker system for my hostel room. Will use them with my laptop.
Should have overall balanced audio quality, although a little more bass would not hurt :)
Will be used mainly for music and movies.
Budget <=3k.
 
The F&D A520 are good, but i think they are very loud. The loudness of these seems to diminish the music quality.
Any other suggestions?

Then you should look at Edifier C2 ,they have the best sound quality in the price bracket .

Bass can be adjusted with the dedicated amplifier seprate from the whole system with remote :)

Their price is close to 4k. My budget is max 3k.
Are the sony D5 a good option?
 
Sony D5 is pretty much an average set of speakers from what i remember from the last time i heard it in the sony showroom,bass is overpowering the details just like logistics sound.

Still you can consider c2 if your budget allows

Thanks man. But my budget is strictly <=3k.
any other alternatives other than the edifier C2 and F&D A520?
