^ As it says give in your inputs please. These are the softwares that will be extensively used on a 22" or a 24" display 24 x 7 probably:
# Photoshop

# Corel

# 3D Max

# Professional Sound Recording (An amplifier/professional electric guitar will be used for sound/music recording)

Please give specific inputs on gpu/cpu. Members who have firsthand experience please give your inputs on what works best. There should be no lag while doing any of the tasks mentioned.

I have no idea/personal experience with professional softwares and sound recording hence started this thread.

Budget: Rs. 50,000 MAX!

PS: Nothing extravagant/fancy to be bought, will give more details about the sound recording later.

Cpu - Intel core i5-750 (2.66Ghz) - 10.2k

Mobo - GA-P55M-UD2 - 6.5k

Ram - Transcend 2*2gb 1333mhz ddr3 - 5k

HDD - Seagate 500gb - 2.2k

Optical drive - Samsung/LG DVD writer - 1k

Monitor - Benq 22" G2200 HD - 8k

Graphics card - ATI HD 5850 1gb GDDR5 - 17k / Ati 5770 1gb - 11.5k

Cabinet - Cooler Master Elite 334 - 2.1k

SMPS - Corsair VX 550 - 5.1k / GlacialPower 650W - 4.6k

Total - 56.5k / 56k / 50k

Though for ur needs Ati 5850 is the best even if it increases ur budget by 6k.

If at all u can't increase ur budget , then ATI 5770 - 11k is good buy for DX 11.

Note : 1. i7 920 + x58 mobo + 3gb DDR3 ram ~ 30k .

2. It will be out of ur budget.

I was wondering if it is really worthy to spend extra money on i7 DDR3 etc instead of buying a Q6600 with 4gb ddr2 ram??? Is the performance jump worth the extra money ?????? Not all softwares still support quad core properly.

yes u are right here ,that's why i said u can reduce on CPU...go on
EDIT:i wonder about electricity bills:O

Cpu - Intel core i7-920 2.66ghz -14.5k

Mobo - GA-P55M-UD2 - 6k

Ram - Transcend 2x2gb 1333mhz ddr3 - 4.8

HDD - Seagate 1 tb-4k

optical drive - any

Monitor - Benq 22" G2200 HD - 87.8k

Graphics card - gtx 260-?

Cabinet - Cooler Master Elite 334 - 2.1k

SMPS - Corsair VX 550 - 5.1k

all in all u will have to pay 50-55k ...u may reduce(quality)of u'r cpu or mobo ..but i bought this setup 1 1/2 mnths ago for my uncle and it runs 24x7 ...no probs tilll now

EDIT:pretty matching with the above one:ashamed:

cheers,

With due respect ,

Please correct the following

Monitor - Benq 22" G2200 HD - 87.8k is not 87.8k but 8k

SMPS - Corsair VX 550 - 5.1k is not 5.1k but 5.5k minimum

Ram - Transcend 2x2gb 1333mhz ddr3 - 4.8 is 5.2k minimum

Lastly the biggest and sinful mistake of them all

Cpu - Intel core i7-920 2.66ghz -14.5k

Mobo - GA-P55M-UD2 - 6k

Ram - Transcend 2x2gb 1333mhz ddr3 - 4.8

This does not match at all. Please don't mislead other people unintentionally.

i7 920 is LGA 1366 and compatible with X58 chipset (mobo).

Gigabyte P55 UD2 is LGA 1156 and P55 chipset .

It is not at all compatible with core i7 920.

Only tripple channel DDR3 kits rated below 1.65v is recommended for i7 9xx LGA 1366 and X58 chipset. Dual channel kits can fry ur i7 920

i7 920 - 14.5k

Msi X58 pro - 11k

Corsair TR3X1G-1333 XMS3 C9 3GB Kit - 4.5k

Total - 30k

That's why i avoided i7 920 + x58 mobo + 3x1gb DDR3 ram in 50k budget.

If u go with it system will be unbalanced and very little money will be left for other parts of ur pc.

Ur config is a toal mismatch between LGA 1366 X58 chipset compatible i7 920 and LGA 1156 P55 chipset mobo.

This is a complete mismatch guys. Please check it up guys.

Thanks for ur inputs. Ofcourse he was not trying to "mislead" me on purpose, we are all bound to make mistakes :p

I am thinking of switching over to Por G35/45 chipset, q6600 ddr2... lets see... :)

My friend is however i am yet to get specific details on the sound/music thingy. Will post as soon as i know. Thanks for posting.

If your serious about your audio recording you'll need to set aside atleast 8-10k for a decent 2 channel audio interface.

These are some entry level options you can look at (via KMD):

Amazon.com: 2X2 USB Recording System: Musical Instruments

Amazon.com: Edirol UA-25EX 24Bit/96kHz USB Audio Interface: Musical Instruments

Both of these are USB interfaces. Firewire will obviously work better for recording 2 or more channels simultaneously, but you'll need to spend atleast 12-15k.

Q6600 + DDR2 now makes no sense at 50k.

DDR2 prices ~ DDR3 prices now and later on DDR2 prices will rise further and DDR3 prices will fall. Then wat will u do ?

Moreover Q6600 is a very power hungry processor compared to Core i5 750 .

Even if ur machine runs 24/7 Core i5 will consume less power than Q6600.
The performance gain of i5 750 to core 2 quad q6600 is noticable for ur tasks.

Plus Intel has already stopped Q6600 .

Q6600 is 65nm but core i5 750 is 45nm .

Nice info.... i had a feeling FX so called "pro" series are way over-priced! Repped.

For graphics, stick to those cards which can be softmodded into Nvidia Quadro or Ati FireGL as they will hugely outperform the gaming cards like GTX 260 etc. while costing half.

Tech ARP - NVIDIA GeForce To Quadro Soft-Mod Guide Rev. 4.1

You can spend the saved money into a good audio solution like Xonar DX or Xonar D2X or EMU-xxx

Hmmm.... ok... good points....

Hello Brother, if you would like to go with AMD configuration then have a look...

Processor

AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition 10.5k

Motherboard Biostar TA790GX A3+ 6.3K

Sound Card Asus XONAR-DX 4.4k

GPU Sapphire HD 5770 10.8~11.2k

HDD WDC 1TBX2=2TB (RAID if needed) 8.4k

SMPS Corsair 650HX 7.2K

RAM Corsair 3 X 1 GB DDR3 1333MhZ 4.5K

Double RAM to 3 X 2 GB =6GB If required 8K

Monitor BenQ G2420HD 11.7k

Since you mentioned your trying to capture audio I was wondering how you plan to capture it?

I myself use a FireFace which hooks up over Firewire. This however was done to ensure that capture is of almost professional quality.

Bro.. AMD/Intel doesnot matter, crunching power in CoralDraw/Adobe Photoshop and 3D Max matters most. End user doesnot game, the system requirements suggested to run these softwares are mid-range (in their site) Afaik unlike games these professional softwares rarely release the "crysis" version rofl! So am thinking about various factors including after sales service of all components in mumbai. Thanks for posting :)

Core i5 will be better than Athlon II x4 620 and Phenom II x4 955 / 965 .

Core i5 consume less power , smashes any amd cpu.
