Storage Solutions Suggestions for DVD Writer (lightscribe)

Hi Guys,

Finally got the chance to register and post my first thread. Been a lurker since long :]

I'm looking for suggestions for a Dual Layer DVD Writer w/ LightScribe.

Personally, i've had bad experience with SamSung and LG in the past, and after reading some posts here in this forum i think Sony wouldn't be a great choice either.

I'm currently using BenQ DW1620 DVD writer .. its good but not great since i can only burn SONY DVD-R with it and not any other brand .. it dint give me any other problem apart from that though.

So i was wondering which brand should i go for? Do you people still recommend me Sony/Samsung or LG? Or do i have to choose between the other brands such as Pioneer, BenQ, LiteON, etc?

Also, since the writer i'm looking for is lightscribe, i was wondering if you guys know anyplace in mumbai to purchase Printable media (CDs/DVDs/etc)?

I have seen the performance of two Asus models. They are pretty decent. You can buy it. However, the problem is getting good lightscribe compatible media.

Also, since the writer i'm looking for is lightscribe, i was wondering if you guys know anyplace in mumbai to purchase Printable media (CDs/DVDs/etc)?

Well i'm not a mumbai guy but i think i knw the answer : Lamington Rd..

Sorry can't help with Lightscribe drives as i've not used one yet.. Btw i'm thinking of getting a LS drive as well so guess this thread can help me too..
 
@Sumeet a.k.a NEO : Lightscribe is a laser technology licensed by HP which lets you print monochromatic text/images on a special lightscribe media.

Could you tell me the model of ASUS DVD writer you own?

And i would request others to please also let me other DVD writers aswell, without the Lightscribe technology.

Please also mention the model numbers and the aproxx. orice of the writers.
