i only download NARUTO .
all other that on TV .....i watch tem on TV only......mostly avoid watching , so that i might not become addict to watch it ...likwise as of NARUTO .

even animes like ghost fighter and samurai deeper kyo and dr.dokkiri were good conan boy from the future and ufo baby ursei setsura and samurai x naruto bleach one piece i findpricne of tennis lame it is a very stereo type sorta anime try steam boy and akira both are oooosum

Anyone seen Get Backers? I've always liked that. And though not exactly your typical anime; Crayon Shinchan is funny. The original that is, not the stuff they air here. Edogawa Conan too is an all time favourite. Most of the others have already been listed; Kenshin, Bleach, FMA, FMP, Trigun...

Other than the usuals mentioned here, I like macross (aka robotech) as well.

These used to come in tv around 4-5 in the morning at star plus (somewhere in the 90s when the channel was a dedicated english channel).

Macross is a mecha classic
Its the first part of the robotech trilogy
And i still hate Minmei's songs

Funny no one has mentioned: Samurai Champloo. One of the coolest and best animes I have seen so far. The action in this anime is really great. Only problem it is too short.

Also I felt Dragonball was way better than DBZ or DBGT where idiots just keep showing up one after the other. Dragonball was more of an adventure type.

Saiyuki, Saiyuki Reload and Saiyuki Reload Gunlock are also good.

Completed watching Samurai Deeper Kyo still confused who survived at the end.

If you are the shoujo type then I would recommend: You're Under Arrest.

To laugh your head off watch: Cyborg Kurochan (The cyborg cat with an attitude and few words "DIE DIE DIE")

I on the contrary got very bored of Dragonball...but yea dragonballz was good even though many ppl complain about the long fight scenes.

@apollyon: Sorry about that didn't notice it before.

I actually found Samurai Champloo while searching for mugen characters.

All those with animax recommend a few good animes that are being aired now. My cablewallah stopped transmitting that channel for last 5 months.

BTW: Which was the first anime (series) that you guys saw?

BTW I am more of a manga fan than anime

My first anime series was Initial D. Finished all seasons in 3-4 days

Then came Hinkaru .... and the rest is history
