CPU/Mobo Suggestions for upgrading my PC - CPU/Motherboard set

Hey Guys,
I'm feed up with my Old comp and desperately need an upgrade.
I was thinking about 16-17k for the CPU/mobo set.
As intel is a bit pricey I was looking out for AMD
I had my Eyes on the
AMD Phenom II X3 720 Black Edition and
MSI 790GX-G65 or ASUS M4A78T-E

I want to go for DDR3 RAM hence need AM3 socket support CPU and mobo. right know not keen to go for a Graphics Card
hence need onboard graphics.

Can u guys provide some suggestions on the equivalent Intel CPUs and motherboards.
any review about the above CPU and mobo would also be helpful.

Intel:-

1-E8400 ( As good as 720 X3 if not better) -8.5k

2- Msi mobo(dont remember the exact model number, will find it out n will let you know) with both DDR2 and DDR3(if you hell bent on DDR3 Memory) -7k

But this Mobo dont have a onboard GPU its a P45 chipset.

There is one MSI P45-8D Memory Lover its a limited edition.
do u suppose there would be limited service for the board too.
But still I will have to get a Graphics Card which i was trying to postponed

i prefer gigabyte mobo's and will sugest u gigabyte.

ddr3 is the modern choice, not many people are using it so it's worth buying .

get a phenom II rather than e8400.

since u'r going for onboard graphics ,i suggest gigabyte.

@ OP: Out of curiosity, if you are planning to go for ddr3 mobo, which rams you are going for? 1333mhz?

yeah
i was thinking about Corsair Twin3X2048-1333C9.
It would be gud if the board supports 1600Mhz too

Biostar 790GX A3+ is worth a look especially for its price(6100 approx)

Thanks
I never came across it
will look at the reviews and specs.

+1 this is a very good option, and that MSI board is one of the best for Phenom proccy.

most of these mobo support dual channel mode(infact afaik all the AMD mobo support dual channel not tri channel) so get either 1x1 ,2x2....and so on.

This is good config but make few changes:

1.Take Q8200 instead of E8400.It costs same but is quad core.

2.MSI P45C - Neo FIR- It supports both DDR2 and DDR3 ram

Instead of Q8200 i would suggest Q8400 with higher clock speed
