There is no chance of the R600 releasing in 2 months. G80 is a hackjob from what little info is available since it doesn't feature unified shaders... avoidable at best.

Its obvious that its not coming out b4 November at the best..
 
@Chaos : Where did you find info on the G80????:huh: And if the nVidia and ATI have to wait for DX10 for like 6-7 months i see no reason for either of them to NOT release a card based on DX9. They're mainly going for profits you know...and keeping in mind that nVidia and ATI don't like to see each other enjoying a place at the top...;) :D ;) ....its quite possible they'll have a little go at each other before going all out with DX10.:hap2:
I still think we'll se some kinda GPU release soon even if its only an upgrade in the DX9 area....:hap2:

Well the thing is...I wasn't on TE a month ago....:P :) . Anywyz so as you can see the core design is ready....nVidia can start production whenever it feels....who knows maybe even started....and ATI can't release before Dec at best(any news abt this?? i read it somewhere though i can't remember where:huh: :ashamed: )...so i doubt nVidia will let this chance pass...:D :ohyeah:

thnx guys.. but i really dont want to wait till Nov-Dec! :( .. mayb i cud just wait till the conroe is realeased n then decide. hmmm.. any news on the AM2 guys?? when is it expected to enter the indian market??

You talk alot of shit, the 7600gt easily outperforms the 6800gt and sometimes the 6800ultra and the x850xtpe.It can handle FEAR at 1024x768 at max and hold 50+ fps constantly.The 7600gt id easily THE BEST mid-range budget card out there right now.

If the 7800gt is just 3k more, then I would suggest you get that instead of the 7600gt...obviously there is a performance difference between the 2 as the 7600gt has 12 pipes and 128 bit and the 7800gt has 20 pipes and 256 bit.
 
im gettin a evga 7800gt with no warranty for 16k.. is that a fair price ?? :D

@chaos : are u sure?? i think u new 7800gt costs arnd 20k ?.. and a 7600gt costs around 16k..

A new 7900GT is 20k. Who'd buy a 7800GT for 20K :P. Check the Leadtek prices in the market section. If I were you I'd not pay more than 13K for a second hand 7800GT with no warranty now, esp after looking at the pi$$ poor performance of the card in oblivion and TR Legends, the only two real next gen games currently available.

@chaos : so u'd suggest a 7900gt?? hmm i was kind of lookin at something around 15 .. the 7600gt seems to be in my budget..
 
AM2 gonna be out in about a few hours :P.

Conroe is scheduled for a June launch.

I suggest you wait :P.

Also, the 7900GT is a big improvement over a 7600GT.

Its worth the 5k extra.
 
As i said wait wait wait for the Conroe:ohyeah: :cool2: ....there'll be enough info about everything..including the new GFX cards then. By the way does anyone know wether AM2 OR Conroe supporet PC8000 DDR2 RAM:ohyeah: ?? I think both support only PC6400:D but i wanna be sure....:)
 
AMD has released the new AM2 processors today. I suppose if you wait for around two weeks it will be available in India.
