Need suggestion as to which do you think i should buy among the following :

AMD Phenomâ„¢ X4 Quad-Core 9650 or 9850(BE) also i need to know what black edition really is

Asus M3A78-EM AMD 780G/SB700 or Gigabyte GA-MA78GM-S2H MB

GeForce® 9600 GT 512MB DDR3 Standard or HD 4770

my budget max to max is 20k

A black edition processor (AMD) has an unlocked multiplier. They generally overclock better and aren't limited by the motherboards bus 'wall'.

I would back the GA-MA78GM-S2H MB. I use it myself. Its a good solid board for its price.
Plus it had more small and nifty features than the ASUS. (Count for brownie points dont they? ;))

Get the 9850(BE). It superbly overclockable.

I wish i knew how to over clock..im a newbie there :ashamed: :ohyeah:

somewhere down there i wanna buy a new cabinet coz mine is god knows how old :P and my 160gb hdd is almost full..but i guess i'd rather buy the best and put the small things on hold :D

decided amd 9850 (BE) quad core

Board gigabyte ma78gm

any other suggestions welcome :)

and gfx hd 4770( sapphire or xfx or even palit ) ( hoping the board supports it, considering its ddr5 )

Phenom I = 65nm , more heat, low performance, low OC capabilities and low default clock speed..

Phenom II = 45nm, lot heat, great performance/price, good OC capabilities, high default clock speed, new AM3 socket supporting DDr3 and backward compatible with DD2/AM2+ ..

Phenom II X3 > Any Phenom I model

20k Hmm:-

Phenom II X3 720 B.E. 2.8GHz @ 8k

Biostar TA790GBX A3+ @ 5.8k

MSI HD4770 @ 6.6k

There you go. You can also unlock the processor into a quad core.

i'm sure Phenom II X3 720 B.E. 2.8GHz will be between 7-7.5k in bangalore

Biostar TA790GBX A3+ @ 5.8k - to be honest..this is the first time i've heard of the company

HD4770 will cost me atleast 7k here

Thanks a lot guys :) cheers..

Will be more than happy if biostar's a safer & a better bet compared to the gigabyte GA-MA78GM-S2H MB :)

this biostar board is one of the best vfm board of the lot and they are quite good . i bought a biostar intel mobo recently and am quite happy with it's performance

Gigabyte MA78GM-US2H (Ultradurable 3 Series uATX)-- 4.8k

Phenom II X3 720BE ---- 7.7k

Sapphire HD 4770/Palit HD 4850 --7k/8k

I had a similar query, i was planning on changing only my motherbard, Proc and RAM.
i was planning on picking up the X3 720 BE, and 2*2 GB of DDR2 800 ram, was wondering if i should get a 790Gx motherboard or the cheaper 780G's.

was wondering if this would be powered by my current PSU a VIP 400W, other peripherals would include 2 SATA HDD's, a 8600GT ,2 DVD writers and a couple of cabinet fans.

the VIP has dual 12V rails with 18A on each

was hoping to keep the whole thing to 20K, primary reason to upgrade is to host VM's on Microsoft virtual server(bloody 2008 VM's demand a min 768 MB of RAM ).

Went to both ankit & golchha today :D:D:D ankit as usual high priced.
i asked price for Amd II X3 phenom 720 - 7200 ( 7800)

gigabyte ga-ma78gm-s2h - (4700)

asus m3a78em with hdmi - 5000

asus m3n78em-hdmi with hybrid cross sli ( 5000+)

Ati radeon 4770 XFX - 7500

Asus m2ncm- dvi -4000+

PS: all prices in brackets are from ankit and the rest are from golchha's..must say golchha guy was kind & his shop had loads of stuff

to be honest..this config in, itself will leave me broke for this month :P so biostar's not possible..any suggestions on cabinet within 2-2.5k ? :P

also i'm planning to give my processor, board, gfx card off..hoping i'd get somethin out of it..gfx card is 8400gs - 256mb, processor amd athlon 64X2 4000+ 2.11 ghz & the board is gigabyte ga-m61sme-s2 any idea how much i could get on them ? :P

off topic : this forum is awesome and so are its members ! thanks for everythin so far ! :D

Looks good

gigabyte ga-ma78gm-s2h - (4700)

asus m3a78em with hdmi - 5000

asus m3n78em-hdmi with hybrid cross sli ( 5000+)

Get the Biostar 790GX

Ati radeon 4770 XFX - 7500

Not worth it @ 7.5k .. get the GTS 250 from Pheonix .. but keep in mind you will need atleast CM460 as Power Supply to power this card ..
